  Wow! What an amazing experience. We arrived in Milford Sound to torrential rain and low misty cloud which certainly dampened our spirits and when our skipper said there was no better place in the world when it is raining we were skeptial. However, we needn't have been as it was a totally amazing experience seeing the sound in such weather. Water was cascading everywhere and the permanent falls were spectacular. The crew on the Fiordland Jewel were professional, courteous and friendly, creating a super relaxed atmosphere and we had freedom roam the several open air decks as well as the well furnished lounge/dining deck. We were lucky the weather began clearing in the evening so we had a lovely sunset and some spectacular photo opportunities the next morning. We were also super luck to see penguins, seals and dolphins. It was a truly memorable experience. The dining menu was more restricted than we expected i.e. no choices, but when I pointed out that I don't eat fish (the main course for that night) the crew pulled out the stops to provide a meat option, even though it was my bad for not having specified dietary requirements beforehand (i'd assumed they meant allergies). So if you are lucky enough to experience this cruise just be sure to let them know of all dietary needs.

  If Milford sound is on your bucket list, then this cruise should be too! Best way to see and experience the sound intimately. 10/10 recommend

  This was a fantastic way to see Milford Sound and stunning geography. Unfortunately our trip was marred by a very unpleasant odor in Cabin 7, which had a terrible mildew smell. We alerted the staff as soon as we arrived in our unit. The crew tried to mitigate the intense odor, however, after two attempts they were unable to eliminate the smell. It was quite difficult to sleep in that cabin and, when we returned to Queenstown, we found all our belongings and clothes had a strong unpleasant smell. This required us to launder and air all of the items we brought on the trip. To further add to the unpleasant situation, the company even denied the presence of the mildew odor some days later. A very unsatisfactory conclusion to what should have been an excellent trip.

  This trip is exceptional, you feel more like been welcomed on board by a couple of Friends as the brothers who run it are really close to you and go above and beyond to make your trip special. The boat is fantastic food is great and all members of staff cannot do enough to help you enjoy your stay.

  Everything about this was absolutely amazing! The scenery, kayaking, swimming, food and guest services were 5 star! I was initially concerned by the cost, but now I would highly recommend booking it NOW if you can! 5⭐️’s doesn’t seem enough!

  During our Milford Sound trip, we had an amazing time with Fiordland Discovery. Francis and the crew were incredible! They told us all about the history and geography of the area, and their stories made everything feel so real. They were exceptionally personable, although there were 12 of us, it felt like a private trip and the crew joined us in our adventures, further elevating our trip. And the food! Chef Chris is a master. Every dish was delicious and he used fresh ingredients that made it feel like it was a five star restaurant on the sound! The views from Fiordland Discovery were absolutely stunning. We could see towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls and lush greenery everywhere we looked. It was like being in a real-life postcard! This is a MUST-DO in New Zealand! This experience alone would be worth a trip from the states!

  This is a definite must! The crew are absolutely wonderful and work so well together. They go above and beyond with everything they do and how welcome they make you feel. From the moment you board, everything is just hassle free. Beings a smaller ship, our cruise was a relatively intimate experience. Plenty of room for everyone though. The food was absolutely delicious and presented perfectly. We were fortunate that we had rain overnight which meant the waterfalls were spectacular next morning. This is a truly amazing experience and the crew make it so.

  My teenage daughter and I from Australia had the most incredible experience with Fiordland Discovery—truly the highlight of our trip! The small group setting made it easy to connect with both the crew and fellow guests. The food was the best we had in New Zealand, with a wonderful chef who catered to all dietary needs. The girls on the ship were lovely going the extra mile for everyone!!! and Jack and Joe who also help run the family owned company were outstanding hosts—true gentlemen whose families should be proud!!! The vessel was modern, spotless, and perfectly suited for taking in the breathtaking scenery—dolphins, seals, waterfalls, and postcard-perfect views everywhere we looked. And a special shoutout to Lance, our van driver from Queenstown to Milford. He wasn’t just a driver; he was the best tour guide we’ve ever had! His knowledge, humor, and easygoing nature made the 4-hour journey fly by. Lance deserves a coffee voucher!!   Loved this overnight adventure. We had been to Milford Sound before on a large cruise ship so I wasn’t sure how this could improve on that. But honestly very different experience, getting to Kayak and swim and sit out and watch sunset and sunrise so lovely. Not to mention seeing the dolphins swimming alongside us. Jack and his crew were lovely, food was good, so glad we did this experience. Definitely recommend.

  Everything about the cruise was fabulous. The crew was friendly and accommodating. The ship was comfortable. The rooms were great for sleeping and not made for spending much time in but that is not why you book this cruise. Excellent dinner and breakfast. The sights were spectacular and with the smaller size of the ship we were able to get close to the waterfalls and animal life. Milford Sound is amazing and this was the best way to see it.
