Start this fascinating journey with pickup by your English-speaking naturalist guide. This tour is friendly for seniors, kids, and families, with small groups designed for a more personal and comfortable experience. All our guides are naturalists with great knowledge of Gamboa and its wildlife.
We will drive about 45 minutes to Gamboa, where we board a covered expedition boat for a comfortable morning ride through the Panama Canal. Along the way, you may see giant ships passing near our boat as we explore Gatun Lake and its islands looking for monkeys and wildlife.
After the boat tour, we stop at a local cafeteria in Gamboa, where guests can use the restrooms and buy cold drinks or snacks. Then we enjoy a short, easy nature walk in the Gamboa area to experience the rainforest from the inside and look for more nature.
After the walk, we drive to Ciudad del Saber for lunch at a local restaurant (not included). Return to your hotel around 1:30–2:00 p.m.

Panama Canal
We start the day with and early pick up at your hotel by our naturalist tour guide, we will drive to the area of gamboa to aboard and expedition boat to navigate on the waters of the Panama canal, after pass the dredging division of the canal we will reach the gatun lake to visit different islands with monkeys and wildlife.
Gamboa
When we finish our navigation at the Panama canal, we continue to Gamboa for restrooms and our nature walk, during this part of the tour you will see the rainforest from the inside and will be a great opportunity to spot birds and more wildlife.

Great trip for wildlife

5.00Very well organized and timely managed trip. Juan was very knowledgeable and shared very interesting and relevant information with us about wildlife, animals, history and culture. We managed to see lots of animals, wildlife and biodiversity that Panama offers. We would highly recommend this trip with Juan as a great way for half day wildlife exploration. We were a family of 2 adults and one 9 years old kid. Juan was very kind and patient with our kid's questions and inquiries.

4.00We were accompanied by Juan. He is very kind and respectful. He also listened to us to make a small change to the visit. It was very appreciated. Our favorite moment was undoubtedly the boat ride. It is beautiful and impressive. Nature rubs shoulders with the huge liners... it’s great! We had the chance to see the three kinds of monkeys, several varieties of birds and an iguana. It was perfect. Our disappointment places it at the level of hiking. We had imagined a hike in the forest in a small trail to be in the jungle completely. The hike is rather on a wide gravel road where walkers, cars, van and buses rub shoulders... not surprising not to meet wildlife. We heard the howler monkeys in the distance, it was impressive. Here, all in all, a beautiful 1/2 day! Thank you!

5.00Hector is a phenomenal guide and if you want to see animals in the country this is definitely the way to do it while learning even more about the country. Probably the best tour I did while in the city. Strongly recommend if you like nature and animals.

5.00Fantastic tour to learn about the ecological landscape of Panama. If you enjoy nature, want to see animals and plant life, and want to get away from the overtly “touristy” tours, this is the tour for you! Juan was a knowledgeable, intelligent guide for our day and the small group format was fantastic. Juan picked us up at a reasonable hour from our hotel and we drove a short distance to Gambia. We learned about the local and regional wildlife and saw quite a few animals. We had lunch at a non-tourist local restaurant. Definitely a great experience!

5.00Hector, Diego and Brian were all very kind to us on the tour. Hector was very knowledgeable about the canal and wildlife. Diego and Brian also shared some valuable information during the trip. Our weather was very good sunny and not too hot. However, we did not see as much wildlife as we thought we would have liked. We do realize that this is not a for certain part of the tour. We did see several species of monkeys, birds, and even some cayman. We enjoyed a very nice lunch overlooking the river.

5.00Wonderful experience. Guide Hector & driver Diego were very friendly. Hector is very qualifed regarding the animal, botanic and canal information. We got amazing pictures of wild animals and well understood the canal history In total much more than expected.

5.00Wonderful way to see the canal and lake up close. We saw three kinds of monkeys and fed them mango and banana. That was by far our favorite part of the tour. The walk in the rain forest is very hot--take water or get it at one of the stops along the way. We also had lunch at the fish market, which was a request that our guides Hector and Diego honored. It was fun to eat fried fish with them! We learned a lot.
