At Montalto, we want to offer you an experience to remember, a moment out of the ordinary. We want to take you beyond the Cellar Door, to share our story with you and connect you to the source of what we do, here in the beautiful region of the Mornington Peninsula.
Our Mornington Peninsula Discovery Tasting and Lunch does just that. You're guided through an entertaining and educational tasting in a breathtaking setting. Taste current and back vintage wines whilst overlooking the vines and kitchen gardens, followed by a leisurely shared lunch that is drawn from the estate's produce gardens.
The unique setting of the Montalto Estate on the Mornington Peninsula truly makes this experience unique for food and wine lovers.

The cool, maritime climate of the Mornington Peninsula creates the ideal growing environment for the early ripening varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Our Discovery Tasting offers beginners and seasoned wine lovers alike a unique insight into the roles played by variety, site, and winemaking in producing these world-class cool-climate wines. Set in our breathtaking Alto wine room or Piazza, with panoramic views overlooking our Red Hill vineyards, we will guide you through a seated educational and entertaining tasting of wine from our current releases and back vintages, as well as limited bottlings not available away from the estate. Following your tasting, take a seat in the beautiful Piazza, where the seasonal menu is drawn from our produce gardens. Enjoy a casual, shared lunch with a glass of Montalto wine. After lunch, take your time to explore the contemporary sculpture collection set amongst natural wetlands, the produce gardens and vineyards of the estate, home to the famous Montalto Sculpture Prize, among the most valuable private sculpture prizes in Australia. Our Mornington Peninsula Discovery Tasting is the perfect gift experience for food & wine lovers.

5.00Beautiful place. Never been to a winery before as I am really not a drinker nor know much about wine. We had a delicious lunch there with friends. I had a wood fired pizza & it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS even the base very Italian which we love. Very busy place. Walked around the winery & sculpture park with some interesting pieces of art.

5.00The restaurant and vineyard was outstanding! While we sipped a delightful Montalto Chardonnay we were served fresh olives and Ciabatta bread and fresh olive oil for dipping. We then had Kingfish Sashimi with horseradish cream and vegetables. Finally Chicken Cacciatore served with vegetables and salad grown at the vineyard. The olives and vegetables are all grown on the property. Their pizza was the best we have tried outside of Italy. The staff were thoughtful and very helpful. The view of the vineyard was gorgeous and there is also an opportunity to walk around and view the gardens, vineyards and a sculpture walk.

5.00It was a really good experience. The customer service was exceptional. So worth it. The wine was great. The place was beautiful. The 3-course food was great. And everything was just for $135 per person. It was so worth it.

5.00Ventured to this gorgeous spot for lunch. Lovely restaurant with gorgeous views. We chose the set menu of a feast of your choice (meat, vegetable or seafood) that served up 5 courses plus sides and bread for AUD99 per person. Had the seafood feast which was delicious- the prawns being the star dish, to me. Don’t know what the Chef did to the potatoes but they were amazing! Loved the presentation of each dish. Of course, wine and sparkling was divine. Nice service too.

3.00Firstly, the wines are great. Also really nice outlook and charming setting. I settled for barramundi and my partner the partner. Both were average. Both were overpriced. We ord r d desert as well. The apple desert in a jar - as pictured - was delicious. The chocolate torte was not good (more of a cake than a torte) and despite asking multiple time for the double cream with was meant to accompany the dish, it never came.
