  Tour gave a good basic look at Montreal and we had three different guides over two days. All were easy to understand and gave different insights. I wish tour extended to Botanical Gardens and the silly practice of needing a wristband (waiting in long office lines) when we had tickets should be be changed.

  Although the trolley ride itself was wonderful and our guide and driver both did a great job the overall experience was extremely frustrating. We purchased tickets ahead of time but were given no info on where to catch the trolley. We asked several places where to catch it. Even the tourist info location could not give us specific info. There is no signage. After being directed to three different locations and walking for over an hour we finally called the information number (not a free call for a tourist) and were directed to a specific corner. This still was slightly off but we finally caught a trolley.

  The tour was ok but at times it felt a bit disorganized. At one point we hopped off and when we were ready to hop back on again, the next bus took an hour to arrive. It would be beneficial if designated stops were more clearly marked.

  Swann was GREAT! ***** on our first tour @ 10A. Tour 2 couldn’t see out windows yet driver just kept talking like we could. Tour 3 didn’t stop at Stop2 for us to get off! Blamed two of us for talking thru stop. All in all but kudos to Swann. Loved his commentary. Hope his tips reflected that.

  The guides vary in their delivery of information. The hop on, hop off concept is a very good one. Worth the cost of tickets!

  It was very informative and beautiful to see and learn. We really liked the commentary in English. They were all so helpful and informative

  We had a two day pass. On day one , we had to change from the first bus to another because the mike wouldn’t work. The mike on the second bus didn’t work after 25 minutes. The tour guide was terrible- spoke too fast in both languages and kept saying, “I just love Montreal”. After a short while, no one paid attention. Stops 1-4 were closed due a bike race and there was no attempt to provide some compensation. On day two, the buses stopped at 4pm. That was really useful! Suggestion- spend a little more $$$ and hire an all day or half day van so you can really learn about this marvelous city and its history.

  We had a group of three, and booked the bus for our first day. It was mostly gray, with a forecast of rain, so we started out on the top level with the idea of popping inside if/ when the rain came. Our guide was Patrice, and since all the folks on our bus were English-speakers, his delivery was English-only. He was terrific. He was terrific. He was very clear and easy to understand, and we learned a lot about the different parts of town. He also had a bit of a sense of humor, which we appreciated. We were able to do most of the tour on the top level, but the rain did start, and we moved downstairs to the inside. While we still were able to hear Patrice clearly, we were not able to see as many of the buildings or areas he was describing. The next day was sunnier, and since our pass was for 48 hours, we decided to hop on again. This time we stopped in one of the neighborhoods, where we kicked around a bit before boarding again. The guide we had this time was more difficult to understand, but we were able to sit outside and see more of the views. We enjoyed our time on the tour, and took advantage of the bus to get us to other areas of the city without having to Uber, etc.

• Excellent Day One but not so good Day Two

  We opted for the 2-day ticket so we could revisit any places we were particularly interested in. We started the tour at Dorchester Square where a bus was waiting for us. We sat upstairs but came down when it started to rain. Our guide was excellent. She gave the commentary in English and French. She was well-informed without over-labouring the point. We returned on the second day but there was no bus. We had to wait 30 minutes by which time all the upstairs seats were taken. We didn’t mind as we had sat upstairs the day before but some people were disappointed. The guide was not very good. Her commentary missed out much from her colleague the day before and she laboured some irrelevant points. There was a long queue at the first stop and no room for some people who had been waiting a long while. They were very cross. We got off at stop 2 (which should have been stop 3). We didn’t bother getting back on the bus and walked back to our hotel.

• No communication

  When we booked the day they did no say that half of the route would be blocked and not only that but we were waiting at stop on the blocked area without this information. Once we finally got to the bus the microphone did not work and instead of just going we waited for another bus (not hop on hop off) a little information would be most welcomed…an email/text could have saved the day.
