Lake Morskie Oko
Morskie Oko is the most famous lake in Poland, and it is often said to be also the most beautiful one. It lies in the High Tatras at 1395 meters above the sea level and is surrounded by high mountain peaks reaching over 2000 metres, which creates a breathtaking panorama. Another great advantage of this place is that it is easily accessible. You can reach it by a picturesque 8-kilometer long route, on foot. Near the lake you can see PTTK mountain hostel located at 1405 meters above the sea level. It is one of the oldest and most beautiful of the Tatra mountain shelters and also a perfect starting point for trips to the higher parts of the mountains.

5.00Our hike with Bart was excellent. He is an exceptionally experienced hiker and tour leader, and ensured that we had a safe, enjoyable visit to Morskie Oko. As a native of the region, Bart was also able to share his passion for local topography and history. He has a calm, easy-going manner that made our entire group of four feel relaxed and engaged. We would recommend Bart very highly!

5.00HEAVEN. We had a great day. Unbelievable route in nature.Auto bus wagon hiking. You get to the lake and stay untouched. A mirror you don't get enough to see.

5.00This was an excellent trip! Huge thanks to Matty/ Maciek who really looked after us so well and went out of his way to take us to some great viewpoints. He arrived bang on time to meet us at our hotel which was in the 'no car' zone, so a short walk to.the minibus and we were on our way. He spoke good English and was very attentive, and the minibus comfortable and air-conditioned. Re the walk, I have heard people say that "your Granny could do it". I don't think my Granny could have, but there are less demanding options (eg horse and passenger cart). We walked up mostly on the wide and level asphalt path up to the cabin and lake, with occasional shortcuts up steeper stone paths. The path is smooth and inclined upwards all the way to the lake. It took just under 2.5 hrs and was definitely worth the walk... the views were stunning on the way up. I recorded about 400m elevation from the bottom car park to the lake (after I corrected for a Strava error). As I mentioned, you can be taken up on a horse and cart but you would still need to walk the last 20 minutes or so. There are also optional was around the lake if you have time in your schedule. There is a cabin/cafe at the top, which got very busy as the day progressed. There were plenty of tables to find a spot to sit. You need cash for the cafe, and also 4 zloty for the toilets. We took our own packed lunches but bought tea/coffee up there. (There are also free portaloos on the route up at intervals - take your own loo rolls with you to be on the safe side!) In summary.... greater trip, stunning scenery, I would definitely take.a.tour with Poland Active and Maciek again!

5.00Matty was a superb guide, really knowledgable but more important he clearly loved the area and seemed to really enjoy sharing it with us. Pick up was on time and the minivan was comfortable. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable with breaks at appropriate times. He walked at our pace and kept the group together without any pressure. Finally he went out of his way to show us a local ski resort and viewpoint on our way simply because we asked about it. Overall a fantastic and beautiful day and we would highly recommend Matty as a guide.

5.00Brilliant tour in the Tatra Mountains hiking up to Morskie Oko and more! The views were stunning. Tailor made trip to suit exactly we wanted. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, one of the best trips we have done.

5.00The most fantastic tour ever! Maciek and Bartek were so friendly and knowledgeable! We were told all about the mountains and local area on the journey to Zakopane and stopped at a fantastic viewpoint for some lovely photos. Then we were completely blown away by the hike itself up to Morakie Oko, absolutely beautiful scenery and a great active day. Our tour leaders were so informative, helped us with some tougher parts of the hike (not too difficult don’t worry!) and were so friendly. We were a group of 4 friends and had a fantastic time from start to finish. On the way back Maciek took us to another viewing point off the beaten track where the views were unbelievable. Thank you so much to Poland Active team, this was our best day of the whole trip, and actually the best tour I have ever done whilst away!

5.00Absolutely amazing deffinelty recommend, pictures are breathtaking enough but to see it in person is something else. Can always expand to and carry on up the mountain if you wish, we did we carried on up to the black lake which was a extra 1hr30 to get to top of. Tour guide and driver were both very welcoming, informative and friendly even at end of trip got us a souvenir will definitely do again 😁 It was me and my dad that done this trip ⛰😊🏞
