Amazing tour!!! The tour was given by Altitude tours. Small bus tour had 15 passengers, out of which five were our family. Thomas, our young driver, was excellent! We hiked the Hooker Valley track- a mostly flat hike, and then hiked up to the viewpoint for the Tasman glacier (a lot of steps.) Both were excellent hikes. We skipped the Kea point hike. Amazing views, including, of course the views of Mount Cook. Fortunately, got great weather. We also stopped at a pretty field of Lupins which were in full bloom. The other stops were for quick snacks/bathroom brakes, one at Cromwell and the other at high country Salmon farm. Excellent salmon sushi and salmon kebabs. You can catch your own salmon too, but not on this tour as the time was short. There is also a lavender farm on the way where usually the tour stops, but we had to skip it as we lost some time because of a rare traffic jam due to vehicle accident on the way. But Thomas, instead of waiting in the traffic, took us to a great viewpoint from where we could see Mount Cook across the lake. We then resumed after the traffic cleared in a few minutes. Overall, had a fantastic day trip!!
