This guided mountain bike experience explores the best trails of Mount Lofty and the Adelaide Hills, just minutes from Adelaide’s city centre.
Unlike standard bike tours, the ride combines scenic forest trails, gentle descents and quiet back roads, making it suitable for confident beginner riders while still delivering a true off-road adventure. The route is designed to showcase the region’s natural beauty, with regular opportunities to spot native wildlife such as koalas and kangaroos in their natural habitat.
With bikes, transport and a local guide included, this is a relaxed and immersive way to experience the Adelaide Hills by bike — no technical mountain biking experience required.

5.00I would commend some recent experience with a bicycle, but anyone with a decent level of fitness can do this. It exceeded our expectations. Ian does a great job. My wife loved this activity; we ended up paying extra so that we could keep the bikes all day.

5.00Totally Rad morning, from pick up to drop off just a lot of fun, the trail was just challenging enough for Novice riders and the views were amazing. Was great to see some Koalas in the wild too , highly reccomneded.

5.00This was a great experience for all three of us. We are all over 50 and none of us had been on a mountain bike before. Ian (from EscapeGoat), was amazing, explaining what to expect during the ride and stopping along the way at tricky parts to guide us. He also provided great commentary and was very knowledgeable about the area. The ride itself was fantastic, and the stop at Cleland Wildlife Park was very enjoyable. Overall we had a fabulous time. Thanks Ian.

4.00We really enjoyed the wildlife park. The views are amazing & we did see some koalas in the wild. Unfortunately, we didn’t realise that the descent from mount lofty would be on a steep gravel track…after 2 nasty falls, i was too hurt to continue… it wasn’t the gentle ride down that was advertised. This is a bike tour for very experienced riders.

5.00Awesome day, easy to book picked up on time. The bike ride was interesting and took in the local area well. Came across kangaroo " family" only 5 minutes into the ride. The Cleland wildlife park was well worth the time and enjoyed the coffee and snack to warm up by the central fireplace. Geoff was our guide and looked after the group as there were several other couples on the ride as well. We enjoyed it so much we booked an all day ride for the Sunday.

5.00Ian was absolutely the best guide on our tour. He was patient, supportive, and encouraging! The views and the varied perspectives of the bush, the cityscape, and the animal refuge made for some wonderful memories! We recommend this tour. It was a highlight of our trip to Adelaide.

5.00Although some of the sharp curves and steep slopes were a little scary, I really enjoyed the activity. The guide was also very friendly. The course also includes a zoo-like park, but whether or not you can see wild koalas depends on your luck. You should be prepared for some muscle soreness the next day.
