Charming town - amazing views

5.00We took the train from Catania to Taormina, a lovely trip through the country with views of the large lemon and orange orchards. Along the way we had an amazing view of Mt. Etna capped with SNOW. Snow on a volcano? Not on my bingo card! Arriving at Taormina we took a cab into the village - highly recommended as it is quite the narrow and winding hill climb along the road. Taormina is a lovely town with beautiful views of the sea. Cruise ships anchor off shore and can be viewed from the many scenic outlooks. We sat at a restaurant called Wunderbar and enjoyed a bottle of champagne and bruschetta while look out to the Ionian Sea. Charming shops will tempt you as will the old ruin 3 century BC Greco-Roman theatre. It's a ticketed entrance and we experienced a long line up - so did not go in.

5.00Thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Christian, our guide, was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, engaging, and great at sharing history along the way. He explained each step clearly and gave us the freedom to choose our own options such as hiking vs. riding an ATV around Mt Etna (extra cost for the ATV, but pretty cool). We also enjoyed a nice flight of samples, including different spreads for bread, plus tastings of wine and other beverages. I would definitely recommend this experience!

5.00Bruna is an incredible tour guide. Her passion, knowledge and experience regarding Mt. Etna are beyond belief. She is warm, friendly and very welcoming and makes you feel like you've been long time friends. Bruna takes a reasonable pace exploring the mountain and makes sure everyone keeps up. Everywhere we went on the mountain the other tour guides knew and said hello to Bruna. Bruna and this tour are highly recommended. However, make sure you dress warmly for this tour....it can be cold as you explore the snow covered volcano.

5.00I had an unforgettable day exploring Mount Etna and Taormina with Etna Tribe! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, with smooth pick-up and drop-off that made the whole experience stress-free. Our guide was absolutely fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the region. He brought Mount Etna to life with fascinating insights, making the experience so much more than just sightseeing. Walking on the volcanic landscape felt surreal, and having such an engaging guide made it even more special. Taormina was the perfect complement to the adventure—charming and scenic. We had just the right amount of time to explore, take in the views, and soak up the atmosphere. What really stood out was the attention to detail and the care shown throughout the day. Everything felt thoughtfully planned, yet relaxed enough to truly enjoy every moment. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable, well-organized, and enriching experience in Sicily. This day trip was easily one of the highlights of my trip!

5.00What a wonderful excursion to Etna! Danilo was our guide for the day. His collection time in the morning was very prompt and was a very friendly and interesting man. His knowledge of Etna and Sicily was absolutely amazing. He is such a super intelligent man and the perfect guide. The tour of Etna was stunning. The views are breathtaking...literally with some of the crater hikes lol Afterwards we had an absolutely delicious lunch at the base camp restaurant where we also got to sample some of the locally grown wine. The service too was impeccable. Finally, we were taken to the beautiful town of Taormina. The buildings and views there are amazing. Overall, this was the most amazing trip we will always remember and certainly enhanced by Danilo’s amazing knowledge and enthusiasm. Its a must visit from us

5.00We throughly enjoy this all day adventure with our guide Giuseppe. He welcomed us warmly and watched out for us every step of the way especially hiking on Etna as we explored some lower craters. The small size of the group was perfect. We had to rent hiking boots for the snowy, uneven surfaces. Other highlights of the tour included visiting a lava cave, tastings of local honey, olive oil and wine, and time in the beautiful town of Taormina. It was a full day of fun and exploring!
