If you are not quite ready to tackle the summit of Africa's largest mountain, then Kilisa Tours & Safaris can arrange for you to do the first day of the hike up Mt Kilimanjaro. you will hike for approximately 3-4 hours from the base of the mountain.

Here you will take a break while also having the opportunity to take in the stunning wildlife that surrounds you before starting your descent.

If you are only in Tanzania for a short amount of time, or are not quite ready to tackle the summit of Africa's largest mountain, then Kilisa Tours & Safaris can arrange for you to do the first day of the hike up Mt Kilimanjaro. After reaching the gates at Marangu, you will hike for approximately 3-4 hours to the first lodges, 2,700 meters from the base of the mountain. Here you will take a break for lunch while also having the opportunity to take in the stunning wildlife that surrounds you before starting your descent. You will be accompanied by a qualified and licensed guide, ready to answer all your questions, while pointing out things of interest along the way.

The guides were not only knowledgeable and experienced but also deeply encouraging, making sure we felt safe, motivated, and supported every step of the way. The porters worked tirelessly and always greeted us with smiles, while the cook provided delicious and nourishing meals that truly surprised me at such high altitudes. Their attention to detail and commitment to our success made the summit experience unforgettable. What really stood out most was the personal touch. The team didn t just provide a service; they treated us like family, anticipating our needs and making sure we were comfortable at all times. Really easy hike but the landscape was awesome. I saw several blue monkeys. I only had a day but I am planning on doing it to the top but on a MTB

My guide "Nickson" was extremely accommodating despite how completely unprepared I was for the trip. He carried everything and had a lot of useful information about the sights to see on the hike. He also stayed just a couple steps behind me so that I could set my own pace. I would Definitely recommend this company and this guide for anyone considering this trip.

I was completely satisfied with the service provided by Kilisa. I especially appreciated that the guide tried to customize the day according to my wishes. For example, I like to hike on my own, enjoying the peace of the woods. After my guide heard that, he suggested that we walk a few hundred meters from each other, to give me space (but - at the same time - to be there in case I needed help). The day hike on Kilimanjaro is not too exhausting, it should be manageable for reasonable fit people.
