Worst Pompei tour guide!

Our tour guide didn't even introduced herself. We learned nothing from Pompei guided tour. She has zero knowledge of the UNESCO Heritage site. My children were eavesdropping from other tour group. We ended up buying the Pompei book from the shop. Mt. Vesuvius tour-I was hoping somebody would be with us going up the crater. We were able to go but we didn't make it to the top coz of time constraint We just decided to just go down because our bus might leave us. This was an expensive tour but we learned nothing compared to our Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi and our Blue Grotto, Capri and Anacapri Tour. This was a waste of money. My eldest daughter told me ask Viator for a refund.

Excellent 2 hour tour of Pompeii followed by lunch, then 75 minutes to trek up and down to the Vesuvius crater. Very well organised. Tour guides and drivers excellent, especially at Pompeii. As a large pensioner, an extra 15 minutes to complete the trek would have been appreciated, given that going uphill is a slow, painful process for me. The time pressure can restrict the appreciation of the crater, as by the time you get to the top, it is almost time to head down again. My fault for being old and unfit.

We had high expectations for this tour as it was costly and we had great experience with viator tours in the past. Unfortunately, this tour was quite dissapointing. First of all, it promised hotel pick up and drop off, and neither were delivered. We started the tour by learning 5 mins before pick up that we had to go to a pick up lcation. We got on the bus at 9:40 and the Pompeii tour started at 11:30 due to total chaos at the Pompeii tour booth. (As a side note, if you have hearing problems in your right ear you will have to hand hold the ear piece you will be provide as it works on the right ear only). Once the actual tour of Pompeii started, the guide was nice and friendly, but the information shared was limited. We were very dissapointed that important sights, including the basilica were not included. Once the Pompeii tour ended, lunch was a rather dissapointing pizza (after a few days in Naples, we got used to delicious pizza) served by rushed staff. The rest of the tour, heading to Mt. Vesuvius was smoother and more pleasant, but please know there isn't a guided tour on Mt. Vesuvius. You will be dropped off and left for a self guided hike, then picked up 1 hr later. The drop off at the endcof the day in Naplesc was in the same location as the drop off (not a hotel drop off as mentiond in our reservation).

Lots of info in Pompeii, quite a hike up volcano. I’m 69 and made it, unfortunately it was clouded in. Tour guides were most helpful and went above and beyond. Lunch was wonderful. Great way to see pompeii
