Wild play at it’s best!

When you go down to the woods today what will you find? In our hidden grove there are plenty of surprises for your little one to explore. From swinging in the tree hammocks to creating dishes in the mud kitchen. Mini-beast hunts and making muddy pictures. It’s hard to get bored in such a beautiful place.

Look out for Sparky the friendly dragon! Our forest school leader will show the children how to use Sparky’s fire to keep the woodland fairies warm, he will also introduce them to using simple tools so they can make a keepsake to take home.

Session will finish around the campfire with a toasted marshmallow and story time. A hot chocolate will be given at the end of the trail, a perfect little wild adventure

We offer an excellent forest school for young intrepid adventurers. The forest school is along a scenic 1.4km nature trail and is located approx. 10mins walk from the main car park. The forest school Ballynahinch is located in a dense beech tree woodland and has two tiers. The upper tier is covered by a large tent canopy and is all weather. The lower tier has a campfire area and a short trail down to a small pond for fishing out swimming wildlife. Our professionally run forest school is packed full of activities led by a trained forest leader. Your child will be immersed in a dense woodland setting with lots of mini activities to promote fun learning and understanding about nature. Each session is 2hrs long. Parents and kids will be met at our car park by the forest leader and taken to the forest school. At the end of the session the group will make their way to our coffee trailer via our scenic trail for a free hot chocolate for the kids. Parents can purchase hot or cold drinks and traybakes. Then back to the car park.

Despite the usual ni weather my grandson and I had a great muddy toddlers session. We made swords and fairy doors under the expert eye of David. Great day and reasonably priced.

We had a fab time. David was fantastic with kids, helped my 4 and 6 year old build a den and campfire. Would definitely recommend with young ones.

Our 2.5 year old really enjoyed this experience. It was perfectly tailored for her age, striking the right balance of free play/exploration and guided activities. Our little one loved playing with the gardening tools, the toy kitchen, the hammocks and just generally playing amongst the leaves and the trees. The campfire, toasting marshmallows and story time were also great fun and gave a very authentic forest-camping feel to the experience. David, the guide, was brilliant - informative, helpful and expert at leading the kids activities. This was well worth the trip up from Dublin and we would definitely recommend to any toddler families visiting Belfast.

We loved the Muddy Tots Forest School. David was incredibly knowledgeable, patient and tailored each activity to the age/ability of the children. We would have loved if the sessions were longer as the kids didn't want to leave!

A mum and son day out during summer holidays to spend quality time together. My son (6) absolutely loved it!! We had such fun in forest school with guide David who taught the group how to safely build and put out a campfire. We also had time at the start and end for free play in the forest, with lots to do for all ages. I’d highly recommend this. Great to be outside and enjoy ourselves. A amazing day, at a lovely venue with friendly staff making the experience. Will certainly be back!!

A brilliant afternoon. We arrived 30mins early to feed the alpacas & grab a coffee. Gorgeous grounds. We walked to the forest school in our group, the instructor was informative & approachable. We built a den, word for the parents- it's hard work for you too! The kids all got stuck in too. Once that was over there was playtime in the woods- hammocks & the like. We then sat round a campfire & toasted marshmallows. Then we walked back & the kids got a hot chocolate from the coffee dock beside a small lake. A really well organised & well worth the money afternoon.

Fantastic experience for young children to get into nature - climbing trees, playing with things found in nature and making crafts, storytelling and looking in ponds for creatures as well as jumping in muddy puddles and seeing alpacas on route. Top it off with yummy marshmallows toasted on the fire and hot chocolate to round of the day! My Grandson would attend daily if he got the opportunity and loves David as a leader
Great way to spend a couple of hours outside.

Excellent value for money. It was pouring but that didn't dampen spirits. Well paced in terms of the walk and activities - maybe lacking a bit of structure but that could have been because my child was at the older end of the range but David was very engaging and interested. A worthwhile experience.
Forest fun, will be spreading the word!!!

Had an absolute blast. Fun, focused and a forest that had the kids bewitched. The forest school we attended was very well organised, well resourced and paced perfectly for the little ones. Loved the landscape, the coffee hut by the lake, the beautiful gardens and the alpacas were a delight to feed. I am recommending to everyone and I will be booking again for sure.
