The Monumental "Eyes of God" (Prohodna Cave) Step into a stone cathedral millions of years in the making. Prohodna Cave is not just a geological wonder; it is a portal to the prehistoric past. Known as the "Thoroughfare Cave," this 262-meter natural bridge features two massive, almond-shaped openings in the ceiling that look precisely like human eyes. Locals call them the "Eyes of God," and standing beneath them as the sun’s rays beam through is a spiritual experience. Your guide will lead you through the massive 45-meter-high entrance—the largest cave arch in Bulgaria—where you'll discover traces of Neolithic habitation. This site is a favorite for Hollywood filmmakers (starring in movies like The Way Back) and professional climbers alike. Whether the eyes are glowing in the morning sun or "crying" during a light rain, the atmosphere here is one of ancient mystery and monumental scale. This is where nature proves it is the greatest architect on Earth.
Zlatna Panega
The Turquoise Eco-Trail (Zlatna Panega) We move to the heart of Bulgaria's first Geopark to walk the legendary Iskar-Panega eco-trail. This is not just a hike; it is a journey through a "fairytale" landscape where the water is a vivid, milky-turquoise—a rare phenomenon caused by the high mineral content of the Karst springs. Legend tells us that the ancient Thracians and Romans believed these waters were protected by Panacea, the Greek goddess of healing. As we wander across winding wooden bridges suspended over the meanders, you’ll see the "Stone Ship" and "The Whirlpool" rock formations. The trail is almost entirely flat, making it accessible for everyone, yet it offers spectacular views of the dramatic limestone cliffs and lush riverside flora. It is a place of profound peace and "positive energy" that calms the nerves and rejuvenates the spirit. We avoid the busy weekend crowds so you can hear the river and the birds, making this the ultimate "hidden gem" escape from the city.

It was a wonderful day. a magnificent excursion. A trip through the amazingly beautiful corners of Bulgarian nature. The snowy peaks of the Pirin Mountains and the peaks of the Rhodope Mountains, a monastery with unique frescoes of Bulgarian church painting, foreshadowing the Renaissance, an unforgettable tasting of delicious wines, the life-giving healing hot springs of Rupite and the house of the prophetess Vanga. And all this thanks to our guide Dobrin. Thank you Dobrin for this wonderful day!
