• Amazing prison island tour

  We had a wonderful and fun experience on the this tour. Everyone was courteous and professional. They (captain/assistant/tour guide) made us felt safe while on the boat. Abu our tour guide is very knowledgeable, he shared his knowledge about prison island, its history and representation. He ended the tour with the famous Jambo song. Would definitely recommend taking this tour.

  Starting from the pick up at our hotel all the way to the end of the tour, I have to say I was pleased with the professionalism of the guys and their efforts to ensure our tour went smoothly. And it did. The lunch was also superb with great seafood options. Good choice of tour and I am glad I picked this.

  Lack of water supplied, no toilet breaks offered, lack of information throughout the tour, no changing facilities, no life jackets or safety information. Food very disorganised and not enough for party size, if you don’t like seafood only chicken available and very little of it and you can’t mix and match, fish offered was cut in half and if you were lucky you got tail end, unlucky a head 🤢🤮 Boat people were quite entertaining and tried hard but better organisation required stonetown tour disappointing. Quite expensive for what’s on offer

  Yazan Tours and Travel Excursion Tuesday, January 27 Twice again for hotel pickup in Nungwi. First thing 7:58, then 8:00, finally taxi there at 8:42. Arriving in Stonetown, the young guide waiting for us told us to hurry because we were late for the visit to the Prison Island. Visit at the running pace on site and no time to look in the shops. Ladder of the boat poorly adapted because ultra slippery bar from where two falls of my wife and one of myself. Departure to Nakupenda sandbank, good service, well served meal. little time on site, departure at 14:30. Long way back to Stonetown. The guide could have done the whole historical part about Zanzibar and the city during the tour, but it was done in static near the House of Wonders and in the gardens of Forodhani Park. I wanted to stop by Freddie Mercury's house, then a quick stop at an ATM and the opportunity to buy souvenirs at the Memories store. Faced with the impatience of the guide, I only had time to choose a souvenir quickly. So from that moment visit through the alleys at the pace of running. The beautiful gates of Stonetown, a photo, and the guide really upset my wife when he asked her if she had any problems walking faster. She reminded him of our age: 71 and 80. I told him that we had made it clear on the reservation that we were both seniors and that we had fallen off the boat. So we arrived, (we were 4 in total with a small couple of young people) at the run to the Darajani market of which we had only the scents, there was no longer any question of visiting anything because the taxis back were there at 5 pm. Big disappointment on that failed Stonetown tour. Again, it seems important to me that the guide pay more attention to the age and needs of the guests and perhaps make comments throughout the walk through the city, especially as we knew the story before the visit. Last clarification, we paid 145 euros for the excursion and the guide asked us to pay 44 dollars for entry to the Ile Prison.

  Very nice tour 🤠. Enjoyed it very much. Good variety of activities and a nice lunch. Also some snorkeling. Nice song at the end

  Yazan was a great host and made for a great tour! It would have been nice to get a little more time at Prison Island, but you never really felt rushed at any of the stops. Yazan is also great to chat with - Iʻd recommend this tour for anyone!

• Good destinations, basic guiding (overpriced)

  The destinations included were a must see indeed, the guiding part was basic unfortunately. - Prison island: very interesting to see the giant turtles - Nakupenda sandbank: powdery white sand out of nowhere and clear water, wonderful to swim in. The experience is getting slightly ruined by the crowds. BBQing and selling lots of souvenirs but that's expected in popular places in Zanzibar :-) Personal opinion: if you have to choose between Nakupenda and Mnemba island, Mnemba island is better by far - Stonetown: definitely nice to have a look at the town In general, I'd recommend the destinations but the guiding experience was not good. The tour basically started an hour later because the guides were waiting for some more people to join and after they did, they had to pay the marine reservation fees, that they collected in cash from everyone. This could have been done much more seamless and also the split of the fees could have been more clear in the tour description (it is split to 12$ for the prison island entry and 10$ for the marine conservation that you absolutely need to pay in order to get on the boat). After that, the guides gave us the bare minimum info about the place and left us to look around alone. The BBQ in Nakupenda could be a very pleasant experience for someone who enjoys seafood. The stonetown tour consisted of maybe 3 stops with some info that I had already discovered the previous day by walking around and browsing online so I don't believe it was worth it at all. Also, the tour ended in a different place than where it started so I walked back on my own. After 3 hours I received a message from the operator asking me if I had arrived to my hotel safely (female solo in the town tour), which I do appreciate, but would have been late if something had happened to me. I'd say the team would need to pay a bit more attention in guiding, otherwise it makes much more sense to bargain directly with a boat owner and visit these islands much cheaper and see stonetown for free.
