Our cooking lessons are held in an authentic Japanese style house. You will experience the feeling of being invited over for lunch by a friend in Japanese culture. This is a great opportunity for all tourists coming to Japan.
Our group lessons have a maximum of 6 people. Our instructors are all very friendly and want you to have a memorable time with us. Even if you came alone, you would have a great time.
After finishing lunch, all the participants will go and explore a local supermarket with our instructors. Together we will help you find all the ingredients we used in the lesson.
We will introduce you to some of basic Japanese seasonings and some great tips on preparing some Japanese dishes.
You will get all the recipes of the dishes we prepare together. You will be able to make some great Japanese dishes for your family and friends back home. We look forward to meeting all of you soon!

You can have an interesting Japanese cooking experience with us in a very authentic Japanese house. First, you will discover the various DASHI, Japanese soup stock, which are found in nearly all Japanese cuisine. Second, you will prepare about 5 dishes by yourself or with your partner. Our instructors will demonstrate how to cook some dishes in front of you before you start preparing on your own. After cooking your own dishes, you and other participants will sit together and enjoy your lovely dishes in the very traditional Japanese room with a fantastic garden view. After finishing your meal, we will go and explore a local supermarket together finding the ingredients we used in the class. If you like, you can buy the ingredients to prepare the dishes for your family and friends. The classes are conducted entirely in English. All of our instructors are licensed guide interpreters, so all the participants will be able to clearly understand all the information covered in the class. This class allows for English and non-English speakers as well. We look forward to seeing all of you soon!

5.00The absolute best! The kindest host and cosiest, most impressive lunch! I felt so looked after, gained so much knowledge and experience and had the best time. Absolutely delicious food that you can take home if you can't eat it all (you make soo much) and it's some of the best food I've had since being in Japan. The supermarket tour is such a lovely addition and she's the loveliest person to spend time with. I hugely recommend it :)

5.00Had an amazing time learning how to make a tasty Japanese meal with Mihoko. She was fantastic! We even went to the local grocery store and she pointed out some popular Japanese ingredients and foods. Highly recommend if you enjoy cooking and learning about the local cuisine!

5.00It was our first time to Japan and this cooking experience was absolutely amazing. Having Miho as our teacher was perfect. To have this cooking experience at a home made it more intimate. Not only did she teach us how to cook, but she explained the significance of some of the ingredients. From miso soup, sushi, to mochi ice cream for dessert, everything we made was delicious! After making our delicious meal, we were able to enjoy it in a traditional way. Miho also took us to the market and showed us many types of food and ingredients. This cooking experience is a must! Truly a memorable time! Thank you Miho for opening up your place to us and teaching us some Japanese dishes.

5.00I had the most wonderful experience in my cooking class with Milo! She was so lovely and taught me so much about the different ingredients and techniques to make a variety of traditional Japanese foods. I am so glad we made so many different items. Now I can brag that I can make tamagoyaki! Making it in a local home made it even more special. I highly recommend for other solo travelers and groups! Cannot wait to introduce her teachings to family and friends back home.

5.00Experiencing the daily lives of Japanese locals is something that is easily missed in simple travel. This opportunity not only teaches you the foundation of Japanese cooking, but it also exposes you to the Japanese home life! Our cooking instructor provided us with surprising and insightful answers to all our curious questions. This was by far the best part of our trip in Kyoto.

5.00One of the highlights of our trip! We always like to do cooking classes when we travel and this one is a stand-out. Miho is a wonderful, knowledgeable host and we had such a lovely time learning from and chatting with her. The class was very well-organized and ran smoothly, but never felt rushed. We really liked that we made a variety of dishes to create a delicious, filling lunch set which we got to enjoy in Miho’s traditional Japanese room with tatami flooring. And the supermarket trip at the end was the icing on top!

5.00It was such a great experience! The food was amazing, the host was really friendly and helpful, answered our questions. We did some side dishes, sushi, eggroll omlete (it was difficult to flip it but I always wanted to learn it :D ) And we did our mochi! Turns out it’s not so difficult and is delicious! We will do our own at home for sure! Thank you Miho for the great classes
