It's only 2 hours away from Timisoara and definitely worth the trip if you want to get to explore wilder parts of Romania.

Our first stop will be to see "The Tunnels" right as we enter the National Park. Here we'll get to see 7 tunnels carved manually in the limestone cliffs that form the gorge.
La Vaioaga Waterfall
After a 30 minute walk, we'll get to see our first waterfall - La Vaioaga. We'll go down a few steps so we'll get closer to it and feel its power as a big quantity of water pours down into the Nera River.

3.00Our guide Andrei was very friendly and knows the place very well. Unfortunately, I don't think the service is worth the price. 5h drive back and forth from Timișoara, then a visit to the park really fast (fortunately Andrei agreed to show us other places off the circuit), in very marked paths, no difficulty. A mandatory stop at the only restaurant in the park, then an unhappy 5min walk after the meal before taking the car back. We really expected something else...

5.00I recommend a trip to the Nera Gorge-Beușnița National Park to everyone who wants to spend a wonderful day surrounded by nature. The path is easy and effortless. What I liked most were the beautiful turquoise lake, the waterfalls and the delicious lunch towards the end of the tour. Dan is an exceptional guide with a treasure trove of knowledge of history and interesting things from Romania, and he does his job with great enthusiasm and positive energy, as well as humor and a great deal of respect for people and nature. I highly recommend it!
