Afterward, from the castle’s foot, we take a horse carriage to Hohenschwangau village. Take a walk around the beautiful Lake Alpsee, and enjoy the rest of your day in the Hohenschwangau area. # Please note that (During the winter months, due to snow and for safety reasons, the Marienbrücke is closed).

5.00Caroline was friendly and informative. The history she shared was extremely insightful. Group inside castle could have been smaller but know Caroline had no control over this. When the 1st person entered a room the audio tour started but if you were the last person you’ve missed some of the audio presentation

5.00This was a very well organised tour by a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. The story of the castle and it's inhabitants was told over the course of the walk to the castle from the car park. We were then dropped off at the castle entrance and met up with the tour guide again after to finish the story and take an optional horse ride to the car park area. Additional points to note: When the snowfall starts, the shuttle buses to the castle from the car park stop. The walk to the castle from the car park is pram/stroller friendly, however the tour inside the castle itself is not. Bring a carrier if you have a baby. Overall, I highly recommend this tour.

5.00Fantastic tour from start to finish. Stephen was an incredibly knowledgeable and talented tour guide. I really appreciated his patience, passion and insight. The castle was very beautiful and fun. Although it was cold and outside it was worthwhile trip. We definitely recommend and would do it again. Thanks again Stephen for the great tour guide!

5.00The interior castle portion of the tour is an audio guide where you are herded around in a large group from one room to the next, which is not the greatest experience, but you don't feel rushed and you do end up getting a good look at the interior. The Viator guide meets you at the parking lot and then takes you on a bus ride up to the castle. Along the way, the guide provides a lot of history of the castle, the family that built it, and the region. You then get to spend a few minutes on the bridge before the interior tour. After the interior tour, the guide meets back up with the group and provides more history. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and it was well worth doing the tour through Viator with a guide vs. just showing up and doing the interior tour on your own.

5.00The castle has a great story behind it with Ludwig 2nd. It is very much a fairy tale castle. The inside that is completed is incredible. The steps and the buildings in the courtyard is a nice warm-up before the main event. It is a good hike up to the castle. Enjoyable with the lovely scenery and woodland. There is a regular bus for a price. The view from the top of the hill is breathtaking. I would only do one castle a day. Allow 3 to 4 hours if you're walking. Book your ticket in advance . You can only enter on the time given. The tour was very good and informative. Go with the flow and enjoy
