The Nicosia City Tour offers a captivating journey through the heart of Cyprus' divided capital. First stop in Larnaca for the Holy church of Saint Lasarus. The tour then takes you to Nicosia and through the charming streets of Ledra Street, the bustling pedestrian thoroughfare, and Laiki Gitonia, a picturesque neighborhood in the old town, full of traditional shops and tavernas. After crossing into the northern part of Nicosia, the tour visits the impressive St. Sophia Mosque (from outside), a former Gothic cathedral, and the Buyuk Han, an Ottoman-era caravanserai. The final stop is the vibrant Turkish Bazaar, where visitors can experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of the north. This tour provides a unique opportunity to explore the contrasting cultures and histories of Nicosia, bridging the city’s two halves.

Day excursion with return to the hotel at 4.30 pm. The journey is a bit long but is divided into 2 by a short stop in Larnaca and its church. The capital is worth a visit even for its uniqueness. The center is nice, characterized by many small alleys full of shops and restaurants. After 10 minutes, past security, you enter another world. And you are immediately like inside a suk. Lidia, our guide, provided us with a lot of interesting information.

Nicosia, a particular city because of the division of the city with its walls, very hot, perhaps best visited in September or October, however it is worth it.

Olga was very knowledgeable and gave a lot of interesting information. We were part of a small group which was nice. Please don't forget your passport as the turkish side of Nicosia is delightfully different.

A great day. Very knowledgeable and pleasant guide, Olga. Took us to see all the main sights and saw us over the border crossing. She stayed with us a lot of the day and gave us a lot of info about the various sites and history of Cyprus. I would definitely do another trip with the company . Highly recommend.

I selected this trip as it said it was wheelchair accessible. However the bus does not have a ramp or lift & so I had to get up the steps on my bottom & haul myself up into the seat, but they did reserve the front seat for me to save me the indignity of shuffling down the bus on my bottom & the driver lifted my folding scooter in & out of the luggage hold of the bus. The first stop was at a craft center where you could watch the craftspeople at work & buy from their shop. There was also a cafe and more importantly for me, a proper disabled toilet. We then went on to Nicosia. The bus took us round the Greek Cypriot side, where the guide told us about significant buildings and what had happened when Turkish forces took over half of the city in 1974. We then stopped in a car park and followed the guide into the center, past some cute gift shops & tavernas, towards the crossing point into the Turkish side, where she waited to answer all questions & then left us to do what we wanted for the next 3 hours before meeting back at the bus. We chose to cross into the Turkish side, which was full of shops selling fake goods that we were advised were not allowed to bring back into the EU due to copyright laws, but there were also some hand made things that we could bring back & the Turkish part was quaint & worth a visit. We then went back to the quaint alleyways in the Greek side that we had walked through & had a nice lunch in a quaint taverna. We had a little difficulty finding the car park again but everyone we spoke to could speak English & guided us back easily to where we needed to be.
