This is the night time version of our rock hounding tour. This will lasts one hour , and you will explore two great spots. You will follow in your car although there is some room in the guide’s vehicle as well. Using a provided UV light we will find fluorescent calcite and other minerals like willemite, scheelite, sphaelerite, opal and agate. Keep whatever you find, a bag will be provided. You will also be learning all about the history of Bisbee and the geology associated with this rich mining area.

4.00Sean rocks! Haha. He was welcoming and very knowledgeable about the geology, particularly fluorescent rocks in the area. The sodalite in particular lit up like embers in a fire. Just phenomenal! The background of a clear, star studded night sky just added to the incredible Arizona atmosphere.!

4.00We thought this tour sounded none we have ever gone on before and indeed it was. The meeting place, time and expectations were very clearly laid out in the details of the ticket. It was fun to be out exploring in the desert in the dark. We learned about the names of the minerals in the rocks and were able to pick up samples during the tour. We used blacklights to identify different rocks. My husband is a beginner lapidarest and really enjoyed the search. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the rock formations.

5.00I LOVED THE EXPERIENCE ! And Sean, (the tour guide), was very knowledgeable and informative. Next time I am in Bisbee I definitely plan to go again ,but do both the day and night tour next time.

5.00Sean was very knowledgeable and this was a great experience for all of us. We went to three sites and found some amazing glowing minerals which we were able to take home. My 12 year old loved it. Highly recommended!
