In the morning, we start our journey to the past through the Sumail Gap, which divides the Western and Easter Hajar Mountains. After this we head to the old capital of Oman, Nizwa, known for its silver Souq and the big round fort, built during the period of the Yoruba dynasty. After visiting the Souq and the Fort, Then we drive to BirkatAlMouz, a pretty oasis known for its sheer scenic value. Reach from there to the roof of Oman, the Saiq Plateau. A beautiful village which was only accessible by donkeys, for hundred of years. The view the over terraced gardens is very colorful. A variety of fruits like walnuts, pomegranates, apricot and lemon are grown here. There are many interesting walks in Wadi Bani Habib, Shrejaya and Aqur where the weather is cool and dry. Return to Muscat in the evening.

Nizwa Fort Oman
It was built in the 1650s by the second Ya’rubi ; Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya'rubi, although its underlying structure goes back to the 12th century. It is Oman's most visited national monument. The fort was the administrative seat of authority for the presiding Imams and Walis in times of peace and conflict. The main bulk of the fort took about 12 years to complete and was built above an underground stream. The fort is a powerful reminder of the town's significance through turbulent periods in Oman's long history.
Nizwa Souq
This souq lies in the vicinity of the walls of the famous Nizwa Fort. Its building embraces both traditional and modern architectural lines. Through its many alleys and divisions, Nizwa Souq has remained for hundreds of years home to a number of local industries, such as daggers, copper, spinning, livestock sale, fish, vegetables and handicrafts

5.00We had a guided tour of Nizwa with Wabar Tours and our guide, Tahar. He was knowledgeable, had a good sense of humour, and kept the conversation flowing throughout the day. We visited a date shop, the market, the goat souq, and the spice souq. Tahar also suggested the electric car tour, which was excellent and a very comfortable way to see the city. He explained the history of the area clearly, including the traditional buildings, the water system, and the large barbecue pits used by the village. We then went to the Al Ankar Al Jabal Resort, where we were able to visit the viewing point and also see Diana’s Point. Tahar organised this seamlessly. Lunch was at a Turkish restaurant where we had an amazing shawarma. An excellent day overall. I highly recommend Tahar.

5.00I had booked a day trip to Nizwa and Jebel Shams. Our guide Tahar recommended to go to Jebel Akhder after Nizwa, because it is more suitable for a day trip. He gave us a tour through the old town of Nizwa, where we saw the soukh and the stunning fortress. Then we made a surprise stop to admire the amazing view over a valley with old villages against the mountain backdrop. Finally, we went up into the mountains and enjoyed the views of steep valleys, terraced agricultural fields, and we walked through an old farming village where we could see the irrigation system. I feel we have seen the beauty of this part of Oman and enjoyed the company of Tahar, who had a nice sense of humour and was a knowledgeable guide and good driver.

5.00We had a great time thanks in particular to the excellence of our guide and friend Tahar, who allowed us to go off the beaten track. Absolutely unmissable visit with breathtaking scenery The old abandoned villages are beautiful as are the Yemeni villages. Note also the quality and comfort of the vehicle. Thank you Tahar for his perfect French.

5.00I took 5 days in a row trips with Tahar, unforgettable experiences! Oman is a beautiful country! Jabal Akhdar and Jabal Shams were also great as Tahar is a very safe driver. Through him I learned a lot about Oman and saw many great places. I would recommend Tahar anytime for all excursions!

5.00It was great experience for adults and 2 kids (8 years and 6 years old). Especially picturesque mountain view and a water irrigation system in a forest were good for summer in mid August. Mr. Samir, our guide, was knowledgeable had great hospitality for us.
