• Guide was rude but winery was worth it

  Our tour guide wasn’t at the port when we arrived to be picked up. We had a few issues with internet and finally We connected and Marilou said she sent a photo where she was. I couldn’t open the link and asked twice for her to call me to coordinate the pickup. I called her and she was sitting in her car when we walked up and tapped on her window to make sure she was our tour guide. She never got out of the car and then proceeded to say we were late. I replied we got there at 9:50 for a 10:00 pickup and she wasn’t at the port. I also mentioned that on all of our previous tours the guide was out of the car waving a sign and making sure they welcomed us. To this she commented “someone is spoiled”. She was rude and picked us up in a tiny car we could barely fit in. And we are a fit group. I pointed to a mountain and asked about it to which she replied it’s a mountain. She was a rude driver not a guide and the only redeeming event of the day was the guide at the winery who was very welcoming and knowledgable. Go to the winery on your own. Marilou apparently doesn’t have have social or hospitality skills and needs to be at a desk job where she doesn’t interact with the public.

  We had a nice time on this trip. The winery was not what we expected. However, the tour in the winery was excellent. Our sommelier was outstanding. The ride to and from the venue was very long and slow. The wine was great.

  Lena gave a very interesting tour. She gave us background about the wineries as well as Kavala. The wineries she chose were different, but both were interesting and had good wines. The stop for a snack was great. The food was good and nice to have authentic food. A good idea to eat something before tasting all the wines. She made sure we were back to the cruise ship well before we needed to be. We would recommend Lena's tour.

  Lena was fabulous with her wealth of information and went our of her way on trying to satisfy our desire to secure some wine to be sent to us. Highly recommend her tour!!

  It was an exceptional tour. We went to 2 different wineries where we were given detailed explanations of the winemaking process accompanied by a tasting, which was very didactic and pleasant. Lena our guide is second to none and your attention very good and warm. I recommend the tour as it was a very pleasant experience.

  I booked the wine tour during my vacation in Kavala , we weren’t sure what to do around the area but this was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip ! Lena is very fun and took a lot of time to explain the history of the region , the local culture and brought really good vibes . The bakery was really beautiful , with the local products . The winery we tried was a unique experience also , we tried Greek wines that I haven’t tasted before , and overall the ride there was beautiful, crossing through the Greek countryside.   It is a refreshing change of pace to meet some genuine locals and experience their food, culture hospitality and charm away from the typical tourist attractions. We were fortunate to have Lena, a wonderful hostess who brought us to a local family run cafe bake shop and introduced us to the owner and his wife. We had some delicious breakfast pastries and sampled some authentic Greek Raki a local wine. We thanked our hosts at the Cafe and continued on to the winery the beautiful Domaine Costa Lazaridi. A pioneer and the preeminent and award winning winemaker in the region. We sampled a variety of delicious wines learned about the different varietals how they are processed and where they’re grown. We thanked our winery guide, Dionysos and eagerly purchased our favorites along with some unique aged balsamic vinegars. We were transported back to our port in time for our boat shuttle back to the ship. Overall we had a wonderful experience met fantastic people and we would highly recommend it to anyone.

  Lena did an amazing job. Deserved 5 star. Very professional. She called & confirmed the pick up place one hour before our arrival. Both places ( Bakery & Winery ) were stunning. Great food & wine , you should try them. Her team is very knowledgeable & explained every single question we had. We had an amazing time & definitely recommend this tour to everyone. They drove us back on time to the port in order to catch our cruise ship. Thanks to Lena & her team 🙏

  Lena was an amazing tourist. Took us two brother wine and showed us the history and difference between them both. Beautiful place ! Be careful though, the wine taste amazing but is stronggg lol !
