Welcome, Greenlander welcomes you on the most adventurous Northern Lights chase in the Northern Norway. You will be guided by a pro photographer (see proof from our Instagram or Facebook page,) who will safely take you around the perimeter on a 4x4 modified Mercedes Benz minivan.
The tour consists central pickup, warm meal, hot drinks, tripods, thermal suit, boots, campfire(if conditions allow,) Aurora portraits and so much more.
Greenlander has a reputation of not giving up and therefore having one of the highest success rates in the business, around 95%-98% chance of catching the elusive Northern Lights. Please consider, the weather can be harsh and sometimes we have to chase for hours, before we can even see first stars. This tour might not suit for elder, obese and unfit participants, as sometimes we hike in a snow and our minivan is rather compact compared to bigger buses used by bigger companies.

5.00Someone please give Hans a pay bump!! He’s passionate, dedicated, knowledgeable and absolutely a big fan of the Northern Lights. He takes great care of everyone in our tour - driving us 3.5 hours deep into Finland under the -31 degree cold, making the campfire, arranging thermal suits, making food and hot drinks. What else can you say about this guy! Most of all, he never stops hunting down crazy lights activity throughout our ENTIRE journey. And you know he’s the real deal when, even after 100+ tours he did, he still goes absolutely crazy at a lights explosion - at 12:30am. If you don’t bump his pay, I will.

5.00Wow. Absolute bucket list experience. So glad we chose Greenlander for this small group tour. Our guide Marcus was an experienced driver, guide, meteorologist, and photographer. While he could not guarantee that we would see aurora that night, he said he would do everything possible to give us the best chance. We drove about an hour west of Tromso to a small open beach area. Marcus this was our best chance to see a vivid show. And boy did we see a show! The reflections over the water and the nearby peaks made for really dramatic views. Greenlander provided thermal suits and small fold up chairs. Marcus also assisted with photos while also taking several incredible photos himself which included portraits for everyone. By the next morning, we had an email with a link to download all the photos. After a while, Marcus made a campfire and provided hot beverages and some snacks. It was great to sit around the fire with the small group and get to know everyone a bit and where they were from. Overall we spent about 4hrs on the beach, and we experienced several different aurora “sessions”. It was amazing how quickly they came and rolled thru. Eventually we packed up and headed home. We were back in Tromso around midnight. If you’re thinking about a lights tour, I recommend a small group as opposed to a large bus; and would definitely recommend Greenlander for the tour.

5.00It was a truly spectacular experience. Our guide Markus took care of absolutely everything. He drove us to a great location, provided us with hot drinks, soup, chairs, thermal suits and, most of all, his boundless enthusiasm. He took photos all evening (which he sent to us the next day in the morning) and really made sure that we only left once there wasn't anything to see anymore. In fact, he noticed the lights picking up again while we were packing up and we stayed for another 30 min or so to see some of the most spectacular lights of the whole evening. He also helped me set up my camera so I could try taking photos myself. We felt incredibly well cared for.

5.00This was our second Northern Lights chase with Markus from Greenlander, our first being in December 2023. This time it really was a chase to find the lights taking us out of Tromso and over the border into Finland. Markus is a great guide, really informative and welcoming and looked after us all very well. He really did go above and beyond to find us the lights. One tip would be to have a good camera, very tricky to catch great pictures with a phone. Markus did send us complimentary photos from his camera on the night the following day which was a bonus.

5.00I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better knowledgeable guide, a better group or experience. Everything was amazing from beginning to end. It was so magical seeing it with the naked eye, having the good quality photos and the company was great too. A memory I will cherish forever.
