Welcome, Greenlander welcomes you on the most adventurous Northern Lights chase in the Northern Norway. You will be guided by a pro photographer (see proof from our Instagram or Facebook page,) who will safely take you around the perimeter on a 4x4 modified Mercedes Benz minivan.
The tour consists central pickup, warm meal, hot drinks, tripods, thermal suit, boots, campfire(if conditions allow,) Aurora portraits and so much more.
Greenlander has a reputation of not giving up and therefore having one of the highest success rates in the business, around 95%-98% chance of catching the elusive Northern Lights. Please consider, the weather can be harsh and sometimes we have to chase for hours, before we can even see first stars. This tour might not suit for elder, obese and unfit participants, as sometimes we hike in a snow and our minivan is rather compact compared to bigger buses used by bigger companies.

5.00We have been to three other countries, chasing the northern lights but have not seen them. We flew specifically to Tromso hoping to see the northern lights and we were not disappointed! Arbo found the best spot and we were able to take many pictures. This trip made our dream come true. The best pictures we have though are the ones Atbo (who is also a professional photographer) took which we will treasure. The hot dinner he made following building a campfire was unexpected but so pleasant to enjoy as the temperature was cold. We highly recommend this excursion.

5.00Our tour with Hans from Greenlander was unbeatable. We are so grateful for his professionalism and his genuine warmth. Hans is truly passionate about chasing the Northern Lights; he went above and beyond to find clear skies, ensuring we could witness such a breathtaking spectacle. The scientific explanation he gave us on how the auroras are formed allowed us to appreciate and enjoy the lights on a much deeper level. Moreover, Hans was kind enough to capture my marriage proposal. He took care of everything, allowing me to stay in the moment, and the results couldn't have been more perfect. Without a doubt, every time I return to Tromsø, I will be booking with Hans from Greenlander again.
A night we'll never forget

5.00We booked this tour about two months before we came to Tromso. We picked Greenlander for two reasons. One: Small group size (there were 8 of us with our guide/driver, Markus). This meant we'd likely be quicker and more agile than larger tours. And Two: reviews suggested Greenlander would (seemingly literally) go the the ends of the Earth to find you auroras. Their success rate is very high, and they didn't seem to be worried about being out late if required. These two reasons really played out on our night. In Tromso, where we were picked up, it was overcast and raining and it didn't feel to us that our chances would be good. Markus poured over all sorts of satellite data and came to the conclusion that if we headed north for a while, we 'might' break into areas with some auroral views. After a lot of driving and a couple stops that didn't yield much, we found a third spot where the clouds broke again, and we had some very nice views. What happened then over the next 30-60 minutes was (to us) nothing short of a miracle. The skies parted, and the northern lights put on a show unlike anything we'd ever seen before. Coming and going, in different directions, there were times when you almost didn't know which way to look! It even started to shine directly above us. After a while, Markus built a small fire, busted out some chairs, and served tea and hot chocolate to anyone who wanted it. He also had hot water and served some freeze-dried camp food that was very tasty. All the while with Auroras constantly distracting us from our seats to keep looking up. Eventually we packed up and were dropped off at our hotel around 1:30AM. It is worth pointing out just what a pleasure it was to be led by such a nice, generous, and competent person in Markus. We did not think we'd see anything standing in the rain in Tromso, but ultimately we were treated to a night we will never forget. His energy was infectious, bouncing around the area in order to take pictures -- which he shared with us later. Auroral photography is another skill Markus has mastered. Simply put, if you are in Tromso and want to go on a Aurora tour, look no further than Greenlander! Obviously I can not guarantee that you will have a night like we did, but I guarantee that Markus and his team will do everything they can to give you the best chance at having that once-in-a-lifetime experience.

5.00We went on a Northern Lights tour with Greenlander for my birthday a few weeks ago. Although it was a cloudy night and we didn’t get to see too much Northern Lights action, our tour guide Hans truly tried his best to give us the best experience possible. He drove us almost to Sweden trying to find a clearer sky- he truly could not have done anything more. We loved hearing his camping stories around the camp fire, and the photos we received from him the next morning were a great memory of the night!

5.00What a magical experience. Hans was a fabulous guide..his energy and enthusiasm and knowledge made the tour that much better. Would definitely recommend this experience with this company; especially if you get Hans :)

5.00We had a great tour and saw the northen lights three different times during the night. Our tour guide Arbo was very nice and very good at finding the perfect spots for aurora watching. He also took great pictures that he has shared with us. The tour itself is a bit expensive but totally worth it for a lifetime experience. It was our dream to see the northen lights so we decided on this tour for its great reviews and small groups. Being on a small group meant we had more flexibility and we could easily stop wherever was best to see the lights. I totally recommend this tour, it was worth it and Arbo made our dreams come true!

5.00Absolutely outstanding in every way possible. Marcus, our guide knew exactly what to do and where to go to see a spectacular view of the Northern Lights. And spectacular they were. What an experience. By far the highlight of our trip. Don't miss this one.
From Clouds to Magic: An Amazing Aurora Chase

5.00We had such an incredible experience on this aurora chasing tour with Markus. The sky was completely cloudy in Trømso, and it didn’t look promising at all but Markus drove us almost 2.5 hours inland, all the way into Finland, to find clear skies. And it worked. Seeing the Northern Lights was absolutely magical! Even though Markus has seen the aurora many times, his excitement felt so genuine: almost like he was experiencing it for the first time. That made everything feel very real, and we really appreciated that energy. Highly recommend this tour: not just for the lights, but for the atmosphere and the person behind it!

5.00Marcus, our driver for Greenlander, was nothing short of amazing. He contacted us to go earlier in anticipation of the northern lights timing and drove us over 2¼ hours & 240 miles into Finland quickly, but safetly, through a driving snow storm. We were able to not only see & photograph multiple arrays of lights, but Marcus also photographed our group and each couple individually with the lights in the background, as well as taking his own photographs of the lights ALL of which he shared with the entire party who came with him. Marcus is an obviously experienced and knowledgeable tour drivier, explained much about the northern lights, Tromso and the surrounding area as well as life in Norway. After our 6½ hour search, we got to see the northern lights and we made a new friend!

5.00You may have to drive a bit to find a clear sky but Marcus, our guide, knew exactly where to go and it was well worth the trip.
