Welcome to an Northern Lights chase designed for people who prefer smaller groups and more personalized service.

This evening excursion departs from downtown Tromsø but which direction we drive depends on the latest weather forecast. To experience the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), the main thing we are searching for is clear skies well away from the bright lights of the city. Sometimes we drive out to the coast, sometimes inland and other times past three fjords up to the Finnish border. We leave the final decision as late as possible to maximize your chases of achieving what you came for – seeing the majestic Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) dancing in the sky.

When we find the perfect spot, we park the minibus and wait for the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) to appear. In the meantime, we help you adjust your camera so you can take good photos of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). We also serve hot drinks and biscuits while keeping an eye on the sky.

What a night to remember, witnessing the Aurora Borealis! Our tour guide was Peter—he was very knowledgeable and truly knew his job. Without wasting any time, he made sure we witnessed the Aurora Borealis. It’s very hard to find a correct and knowledgeable guide. Such a remarkable experience on tour with the humorous, all-rounder, Stefan. Loads of information & guide were provided during the trip and photos taken simply were simply breathtaking. Thumbs up for providing a splendid time to us!

My family and I joined a Northern Lights tour with NLT on October 12, 2025. Our guide was Peter. When it started raining as we got on the bus, I secretly thought, “Guess we won’t get to see the Northern Lights tonight.” Peter was such a great guide — he made sure we were all comfortable on the bus and kept adjusting the temperature so we’d stay warm. At the first stop, there were lots of clouds, so we could only see a faint light. But Peter didn’t give up. He drove us to another spot farther away, and there we finally saw beautiful green and red Northern Lights. Everyone got amazing photos! My family and I were so excited and deeply impressed. Thanks to Peter and NLT for making our dream of seeing the Northern Lights come true.

Really Really Very Amazing!!! The Light Tour is Really Amazing Jack very friendly humor, the focus is very professional, explains the production of ultra light Also describe some conditions that need to see the polar light!! Thanks to Jack's professionalism, you can see the lights in the first place, even on the way back Also take us to another place to pursue, also see a very large spectrum of the light Hot chocolate served to drink and help warm up Photos can be downloaded the following afternoon The return also directly loaded back to the hotel door, overall very worth it!!!

We had the most unforgettable experience with Peter on our Northern Lights tour! Peter was friendly, organized, and clearly passionate about what he do. He explained the science and local legends behind the Aurora in such an engaging way, and made the whole evening both educational and magical. Peter patiently took all our photos which made the night memorable. We would definitely recommend this tour if you want a Northern Lights adventure you’ll never forget! Thumbs up to NLT and Peter

Mag (aka The Silver Fox) was a fabulous tour guide, very informative and gave us clear instructions so we would all stay safe. Drove us to two different locations and we had the most fantastic light show at the second one, by the water with mountains behind us. It fulfilled a bucket list dream of mine ever since seeing Joanna Lumley on the BBC in 2014 with The Land of the Northern Lights. Beautiful Tromso you didn’t disappoint!! We were a group of 11 ladies who travelled together (and had never met before we gathered at Luton airport!) so it was a very emotional and special time for all of us…we travelled as strangers and came home as friends who had all shared the most magical of times!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND - great guide and beautiful photos. Go with Northern Lights Tromso (NLT), go local. This company works with a network of local, dedicated, and knowledgeable guides who scour the country skies for lights. Because they actively communicate; if there are lights, they will find them. They are also very prepared and safety is of the utmost importance. If you are cold, TELL THEM! They have gear available. That said, dress warmly - don’t forget socks. Finally, the guides take pictures and videos. They stay out in the cold and set up their camera for the perfect shot. They take lots of photos professionally and they sacrifice their cold hands to do it. Thank you Magne!
