Personal and Adventurous Experience – A smaller group size allows for a more intimate and flexible chase, guided by Northern Lights experts.

Adaptive Routes and Patience – Our route changes based on weather, cloud cover, and road conditions. We may travel long distances or into Finland to find clear skies.

Set Realistic Expectations – The aurora is unpredictable; some nights offer subtle displays, while others feature vibrant colors. Multiple chases increase the chance of a spectacular sighting.

Scenic Stops When Possible – If conditions allow, we stop for campfires and photo opportunities, but finding clear skies is our top priority.

Expert Guidance and Support – Our guides assist with photography and share insights about the aurora, making this a rich and educational adventure.

Pictures often depict Northern Lights stronger than what we may see with our eyes

Our tour operates on all weather conditions. It is possible to find clear sky even in seemingly challenging weather conditions and we often see the Northern Light on nights when the weather forecast is worst.

Regardless if the sky is clear or not, there is a chance we may not see the Northern Lights

There are no refunds or free trip if we don’t see the Northern Lights

This is a real chase that can include many hours of driving. The return time to Tromsø is between midnight and 04:00

It is recommended to dress warm

You may be tired the next morning

We make toilet stops if possible, but sometimes we have to use nature

This trip requires a minimum of 8 participants. In the rare event that a trip needs to be cancelled, a full refund will be provided. In such cases, we will also offer to reschedule your trip to an alternative trip.

Alcohol is not allowed on the tour

The exact departure time will be sent on the morning of the tour.

We went on Friday 12th December and we were lucky to see the lights straight away. Had an amazing light show whilst sitting around the camp fire. We had Owen as our guide what a charming and friendly young man. He was so lovely and very knowledgeable about all things Northern Lights. He look after us well. Pawel was our driver and he was a very good safe driver felt very comfortable. If any trips get these two people as their driver and guide they will be very lucky and will have a great evening.

Our guides Alex and Taylor, and driver Karol! did a great job with our tour. The location was perfect for an extrodinary night of Aurora watching. It could not have been a better experience.

We saw amazing lights, probably best this season - they danced for hours! Marc was a great guide and photographer, the trip was worth every penny. I'm glad it was a small group, the area wasn't too crowded so we got great shots.

Incredible trip - crystal clear night and loads of solar activity resulted in an unbelievable display of Northern Lights. From the moment we arrived, the sky was filled with vibrant show that was hard to take in. Unforgettable. Also a huge shout out to our guides Alex, Taylor and Karol who looked after so well throughout the evening, their passion and knowledge was second to none. Thank you so much for making it a birthday I will never, ever forget!

Alex (New Zealand guide) and Pawel (driver) were amazing on our tour. Alex was really knowledgeable, funny and he made sure we stayed as safe and as comfortable as we could during the cold, windy night. Meanwhile Pawel was friendly, patient and kept checking in on our wellbeing. Together Alex and Pawel made such a good team and we couldn’t be happier to be with them. The minibus we were on was spacious and comfortable, and the amazing lights we saw tonight was just mind blowing. It was truly a night to remember.
Unreal experience. Bailey is the best.

Would highly recommend one of the coolest experiences of my life. If you can, try and go with the guide Bailey, he made three experience as good as it was. He’s the MVP and wouldn’t have been the same without him.

After 2 fairly disappointing Aurora chases, we had a moment of inspiration and booked a small bus tour with Northern lights. There are no words to describe how everything just fell into place. Our guide Bailey, aided like a true chaperone and sidekick by Brian, the best driver, made miracles in finding a perfect place surrounded by 3 peaks, with crystal skies and the most amazing dancing Aurora. The Green Lady also showed intense hues of pink and purple and lasted for several hours. During that time, we were royally treated with a bonfire outdoors, hot meals and hot blueberry juice (the best) and also with good mood, expert photos and extra warm clothes. Everything was done incredibly well and with such good energy by Bailey and Brian that we didn't even feel the -15 degrees outside. It was by far a better experience than i would have hoped for. Excellent memories! Thank you again, Bailey, for all your planning, your hard work and your intuition. Thank also Brian for us, he was more than a reliable and safe driver, he was a true companion and chaperone. We are grateful to have met you both !

It was a memorable experience. Special thanks to the chasing lights team (Alex, Sara, & Pawel). Whole trip was well planned, and we were lucky to get great views of the lights. I must mention that our guide Mr. Alex went out of the way to make sure that every participant can maximize their experience for viewing, capturing photos, food, hot drinks etc. Thanks, once again Mr. Alex. Looking forward for visiting again with Family :) PS: I booked the trip based on reviews on tripadvisor, and just to confirm that all mentioned good things and five starts are absolutely true.

On recommendation, we decided on the Chasing Lights minibus tour and didn't regret it for a minute. I wanted to experience the Northern Lights live once in my life. There were ten of us in a Mercedes bus, which our driver Jarek maneuvered excellently over the icy roads. Since the clouds in and around Tromsø were quite dense, we drove as far as Finland. At about 600 m altitude we had excellent conditions. The sky above us was cloudless and the stars shone. At first there were only the first delicate veils, but then the sky seemed to explode. We could see the Northern Lights with the naked eye. But the best way to see them is through the lens of a camera (phones are unfortunately not so perfect). All the better that our guides Tessa and Jonas took fantastic photos of all the participants and the Northern Lights, which Chasing Lights provided to us the same night. A memory for life. Jonas then took care of a campfire where we could warm up until Tessa and he brought us our dinner. There was also hot tea and hot fruit juice. I will never forget this experience. Many thanks to Tessa, Jonas and Jarek who do their job with so much passion. We can only recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful experience and that too on the very first day we reached Tromso...I am so glad I chose Chasing Lights for fulfilling my dream of seeing Lady Aurora..one from my bucket list ticked..Alex, Tessa and Karol were wonderful guides who made their mission to ensure that our wishes are fulfilled and of course took the pains of taking perfect pics...and the campfire was great too..with barks of birch trees...really thank them from the bottom of our hearts...recommend them wholeheartedly for all who read reviews like I used to do...all the best ..
