  This was a night that I will remember for the rest of my life. The whole experience was perfect, from Nik and Karol's expertise to the comfort of the van, the "extras" like warm boots and coats, a hot meal around a campfire, warm juice and cookies, and of course the Northern Lights. They were absolutely spectacular, and Nik was very cognizant of where we should go to view them. On the way back, we made an impromptu stop when he spotted them again and they were even more vivid than they had been earlier in the evening. His photos, which were included as a part of the tour, are awesome and it was such a nice thing to receive them so quickly via email after the tour was over. Many thanks to Nik and Karol and the whole team who put together this experience. It is a "must do" in Tromso!

  Our 28 February 2026 minibus chase with Chasing Lights was phenomenal! Marc's explanation of the science of the aurora borealis helped us to better understand this incredible natural wonder. His passion was infectious. The planning and subsequent analysis of where and when to best see the northern lights gave us confidence about the probability of seeing a delightful show and what a show it was! Marcin, our driver, was familiar with the routes and routines which included preparing the campfire, setting up cameras, and heating the food and tea. The cookies/biscuits were extra special. We will never forget this extraordinary experience. And yes, it was cold, however, cold weather gear was provided.   We had the best time , Michiel and Brian were fantastic . Both making sure we had the best time in comfort ! Felt super looked after ( after my fall in the snow ) both went above and beyond . We have some great pictures , have gained lots of knowledge and the very best memories . Thank you both

• A magical birthday under the Northern Lights!

  We joined this Northern Lights tour last night to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and it turned into one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. Even though the weather conditions were challenging, our guides Marc and Brian never lost their optimism. Their patience, positivity, and determination made all the difference — and in the end, the night rewarded us with beautiful Northern Lights. The tour lasted around 7–8 hours, and we were a small group of about 14 people from different countries. It was such a friendly and harmonious group, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Marc and Brian were an amazing duo: professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. They created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the entire tour, making the whole night feel effortless and special. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tromsø. It is truly worth every penny and an experience we will never forget.

  We had an AMAZING night! Started off the tour with some hot chocolate and biscuits at the meeting point. After we were all settled in the bus, Alex got right to it. His enthusiasm was infectious, and had the whole bus sitting in anticipation! We traveled maybe 1hr to the place Alex had in mind. At first, we did not see much but then, A WHOLE EXPLOSION OF LIGHTS. We stayed outside for so long, we couldn’t feel our toes anymore. Luckily, Chasing Lights provided snowsuits and boots.(They had it right at the bus, so even if you originally said you didn’t want any, you could still change your mind and wear them!) (Shoutout to Karol for being so patient with helping us suit up!) (Other tours also offered suits, but we said no thinking what we had was good enough, so they left the suits in the meeting point area. So happy Chasing Lights brought the suits still! 6~hrs in the snow at -14C would freeze anyone’s toes but the suit DEFINITELY helped) We stayed in our area for maybe 6 hours. The lights were coming nonstop! Alex was also so patient in taking shots of everything, as well as taking amazing videos of the northern lights! He was also so helpful in teaching us how we could use our own cameras in taking the shots. (I had a Fujifilm, and literally thought it was hopeless. But ten minutes with Alex and I had amazing shots too!!) After a while, we all sat down around a bonfire (so bougie, the place we sat on had fur rug) and then we had freeze dried meal. Originally had low expectations, but it blew my mind. It was so good. Anyway, we stayed for a total of 8 hours I think, 2hrs for traveling, 6hrs for watching, and we were so lucky to have just stayed in one area the whole night. (We had an experience where we drove for 8hrs roundtrip and stayed at the place for 2hrs only) I strongly recommend Alex, Karol, and Chasing Lights. Sure, they might be a bit pricier than others, but the experience was worthwhile. We went on four different tours, but we ALWAYS talk about this one. Book them ahead before slots run out!

  

  

  

• Amazing experience thanks to dedicated guides

  From the very beginning, the Chasing Lights team was extremely dedicated and accommodating. We were a 15-person group of students traveling from France to see the Northern Lights. As soon as I sent my first email, the team went above and beyond to ensure they could host a private tour that fit everyone (a huge thank you to Elise and Chiara). On the day of the trip, our guides, Nik and Brian, worked tirelessly to make sure we had a great time and, more importantly, that we saw the lights. The experience was truly life-changing and beautiful in ways that words can’t properly capture. We only saw them thanks to this team. Thank you, Chasing Lights! I recommend them wholeheartedly.

  We had the most fantastic tour with Marc as our guide and Marcin as our driver. We chose this tour specifically because of the great reviews this company received and our excursion did not disappoint! Seeing the Northern Lights with my own eyes (and not through a camera lens) was a bucket list item for me. And Marc helped me check it off the list. The display was magnificent - the lights moved with grace across the sky and the colors were vibrant. I actually saw greens, pinks, and purples that night! That alone made the trip well worth the money, but we got so much more. Marcin drove us into Finland to get the most spectacular display possible that night - and Marc said it was one of the best he's seen all season. His enthusiasm was so evident that night and the photos he sent to us within hours of our return included some videos and in them you could hear the excitement in Marc's voice as he filmed the auroras. He was such a great guide - his enthusiasm, his knowledge, his attentiveness. Simply and outstanding guide and a great reflection on the company itself. The photos Marc took (and yes, he is actually a professional photographer, too) ensure we will have memories to last a lifetime, and the icing on top was the great camp Marc set us for us in Finland - complete with a campfire circle with reindeer hides around it, a warm meal, a hot drink, and homemade cookies. Seriously, who could ask for more than that? The excursion included a warm jacket and boots but my husband and I didn't need them - we had packed warm gear. Others on our tour did enjoy them, however, which is good - no one wants to be cold while out enjoying the lights. The tour is also for a small group - the minibus seats 15, our group was 12 and it actually allowed for us to interact a bit - everyone was so very nice and out to share in a true adventure. Another aspect of this tour I particularly liked was that the pick-up and drop-off points were at the pier, right at our cruise ship. Marc and Marcin picked us up right on time at 5:45 pm and dropped us back to our ship at around 1:30 am. We had a wonderful time.

  Went with my mother on two consecutive nights. The weather didn't help at all on the first night, with Owen as our guide, and we were not able to see anything. On the second night, we were able to find some clear skies and see a bit of activity early in the night, until the sky closed again and it started raining, then our guide decided we head back to Tromsø. As we were preparing to leave, our guide Irene took one more look at the sky, and saw a glimpse of activity between the clouds, which turned into an amazing show of the auroras, as the skies cleared entirely and the activity started in its full splendor! It was really worth the trip. Amazing work by or guides on both days, totally recommended.
