Personal and Adventurous Experience – A smaller group size allows for a more intimate and flexible chase, guided by Northern Lights experts.
Adaptive Routes and Patience – Our route changes based on weather, cloud cover, and road conditions. We may travel long distances or into Finland to find clear skies.
Set Realistic Expectations – The aurora is unpredictable; some nights offer subtle displays, while others feature vibrant colors. Multiple chases increase the chance of a spectacular sighting.
Scenic Stops When Possible – If conditions allow, we stop for campfires and photo opportunities, but finding clear skies is our top priority.
Expert Guidance and Support – Our guides assist with photography and share insights about the aurora, making this a rich and educational adventure.

Pictures often depict Northern Lights stronger than what we may see with our eyes
Our tour operates on all weather conditions. It is possible to find clear sky even in seemingly challenging weather conditions and we often see the Northern Light on nights when the weather forecast is worst.
Regardless if the sky is clear or not, there is a chance we may not see the Northern Lights
There are no refunds or free trip if we don’t see the Northern Lights
This is a real chase that can include many hours of driving. The return time to Tromsø is between midnight and 04:00
It is recommended to dress warm
You may be tired the next morning
We make toilet stops if possible, but sometimes we have to use nature
This trip requires a minimum of 8 participants. In the rare event that a trip needs to be cancelled, a full refund will be provided. In such cases, we will also offer to reschedule your trip to an alternative trip.
Alcohol is not allowed on the tour
The exact departure time will be sent on the morning of the tour.

5.00Had an amazing experience with the northern light chase! What made the entire thing better were the leads - Alex, Taylor, Karol! Shoutout to Alex who went the extra mile to look for the best spots for photo taking. Strong passionate individual, loved the energy. Hope to hunt for red NL next round. :)

5.00What a trip it was. One for the books. We have been following them for ages and always wanted to participate in a chase with them. In Tromso we did, on March of 20, 2026 after our first unsuccessful chase with a different operator. Ilana / Irine (from argentina) with Brian/ Brim (from Ireland) were our guide and driver. They took us to finland in search for clearer sky as tromso was nasty. And we were gifted with a spectacular display lasting for almost 2 hours , including sparkles of purple and blue along with the dancing green lady! Truly core memory. They are the best in the buisness for a reason. While you'll find a lot of operators offering much cheaper services I think you should avail at least one Chase with the chasing lights small group. It'll be worth it ! Strongly recommend it. P.S. shoutout again to the guides.for taking such good care of us with questions, photographs, bonfires, food and beverages!

5.00I enjoyed this experience a lot. The minibus chase with a reduced group make it easier to connect with the other people, especially around the fire prepared by the guide, who are very prepared: they are organized, coordinate and knowledgable. They prepare food, take pictures and explain the Northern Lights phenomenon. I haven't had the full-fledged Nothern Lights experience due to challenging wheather conditions, but I've had a glimpse of it that made me really grateful for the overall experience. Shoutout to Tessa, Nik and Irene. Amazing tour guides and incredible people. Marcin, Amar and Ivan, the drivers, must also be remebered for their hard work.

5.00Our tour with Tessa and Karol was fantastic. They took us to a stunning location away from light pollution for a perfect view of the auroras. Not only did they explain the science behind them, but they also showed us how to orient ourselves in the night sky and locate North to ensure we didn't miss a thing. It was the perfect complement to the experience! The photos turned out beautiful, and we returned feeling so happy. Highly recommend Chasing Lights!

5.00I go back to Tromso almost every year for the past 4 years and have always chased the northern lights with Chasing Lights. They are undoubtedly the best and I have never had a bad experience with them. They train their guides extensively and have an immense amount of experience, resources, and network when it comes to finding the clearest skies in the region. I have met many guides in the past few years; Meda, Jonas, Thomas, Marc, Soraia, Nik, Marius, and everyone at the company is a blast to tour with. After my first experience with them in 2022, I have since brought so many different groups of friends to chase for several days including college friends, high school friends, and family members. All of them have nothing but positive feedback for the tours. I have gone with groups of 2 up to 12 and all of us have been accommodated with the heartiest welcome and fun atmosphere. The price you pay at Chasing Lights is, in my opinion, the best deal you'll get because you get an intimate experience, they take care of all the confusing logistics and dangers that come with traveling through the Arctic wilderness, and you have their network of intelligence backing them up from their HQ. Additionally, you get unlimited portraits taken of you throughout the night and all the high-quality images of the aurora. If you're considering different companies to choose from for your arctic adventures, I can back with my full 100% that Chasing Lights is the operator you should go with.

5.00We had an amazing night and were lucky enough to watch the lights dance for several hours. Bailey and Thomas took fantastic care of us from start to finish — finding a great viewing spot, providing warm clothes and boots, setting up a cosy campfire, and driving us back to our lodging at the end. Bailey did a great job in explaining the science behind the auroras in a clear and engaging way, and his passion, humour, and storytelling made the whole experience truly priceless. The many photos he took and shared with us shortly after were very professional, providing great memories. The evening was flawlessly organised. An amazing experience that I can highly recommend!
