  SUMMARY After spending more than 6 weeks at Pure Dive during my Divemaster training and returning again for another diving holiday, I can confidently say that Pure is one of the most professional and welcoming dive operations I have experienced worldwide. The combination of outstanding safety standards, excellent instruction, high-quality accommodation, and genuinely caring staff creates a unique atmosphere where you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend. As an experienced diver with dives across Indonesia, Palau, the Philippines, the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, and the Red Sea, Pure fully meets my high expectations for both scuba and freediving operations. Marine life highlights included manta rays, mola alexandrini, stingrays, marble rays, frogfish, octopus, lionfish, scorpionfish, nudibranchs, anemone fish and many crabs. I returned again in May 2026 for a 5-day diving holiday, which confirmed once more why I rate Pure so highly. What stands out most about Pure Dive is the professionalism and genuine passion behind the entire operation. The dive center operates with a comprehensive and very well-structured safety and emergency concept, uses technically up-to-date procedures, and creates an environment where both beginners and experienced divers feel safe and supported. As an experienced diver with more than 370 dives (shore, boat and liveboat) at the time of writing this review — including Raja Ampat, Lembeh, Komodo, Nusa Penida, Palau, the Philippines, the Mediterranean, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Sudan, South Africa, and Switzerland — I can confidently say that Pure Dive is among the most professional and well-run dive centers I have experienced. The guides and instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, and highly attentive to safety. Dives are adapted to the abilities and comfort level of the guests, creating a very individualized diving experience. The staff also takes excellent care of both personal and rental equipment, and all gear is very well maintained. One thing that truly gives Pure its special atmosphere is the teamwork between the entire staff. From the boat crews and compressor operators to the hotel staff, guides, and instructors, everyone works hand in hand. It creates a welcoming family-like vibe while still fully respecting guests’ privacy and personal space. The guests themselves come from all corners of the world, including Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States, which creates a very international and friendly atmosphere around the resort. The dive operation itself is smooth and efficient, with two well-maintained boats and a beautiful training pool that is also perfect for relaxing after diving. The schedule usually consists of 2–3 dives per day, starting around 8–9 AM and finishing between 2–3 PM depending on tides and conditions. During my second stay in May 2026, I stayed in one of Pure’s six newly built bungalows, and they were honestly exceptional. You can feel that they were designed with love, passion, and a deep understanding of what divers actually appreciate after long dive days. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a welcome drink and warm smiles from the front desk staff, immediately making me feel at home. The rooms are stylish, beautifully furnished, and extremely comfortable. They include air conditioning and a fan, a beautiful desk with charging ports and a comfortable chair, a spacious double bed, and a very cozy daybed. I was welcomed with flowers in the room, and complimentary tea, coffee, toiletries, and insect repellent were thoughtfully provided. Daily room cleaning kept everything spotless. What impressed me most was the attention to detail throughout the bungalow design — from the carefully chosen furniture colors and warm lighting to the stunning outdoor bathroom, which offers complete privacy while showering under the open sky. It created a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere that perfectly complemented the diving experience. The food and drinks were another highlight. Breakfast is currently served à la carte at a nearby restaurant across the street and was consistently excellent, accompanied by very good coffee or tea. Lunch is also provided when diving with Pure. I was told that a restaurant directly on the property is already planned, which will make the overall experience even better in the future. Besides scuba diving, I also completed my Advanced Freediver course with Pure Freediving and Apnea Total during my time on Nusa Penida. I additionally joined coaching sessions and fun freediving classes, all of which were conducted in a very professional, safe, and motivating environment. The quality of instruction and personalized coaching was excellent, and I am already looking forward to returning to try the spearfishing classes in the future. A very special thank you to Ark, Vic, Mike, Mira, Wayan, Ruddy, Intan, Budi, Abdul, Kamal, Wantan, Pak Gede, Madi, the two Kadek, Ketut, Fandi and all the other Guides and Staff for making every stay memorable through your kindness, professionalism, and hospitality. I would also like to especially thank the freediving team, Arthur and Lilli who were amazing instructors and mentors throughout my time at Pure. I will definitely return to Pure again — not only because you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend, but especially because the quality of the diving, professionalism of the operation, and safety standards truly meet my rather high expectations. Pure Dive is a place built with passion, professionalism, and genuine care for its guests.   This was hands down the best-run diving outfit I’ve encountered in all of Indonesia — and I’ve dived with many. From the moment I arrived to the day I left, I felt completely at home, like I was diving with good friends rather than a tour operator. Everyone on the team was genuinely kind and clearly dedicated to making my experience as memorable as possible. Safety was never a concern — I felt completely looked after throughout all 5 days of diving. That kind of peace of mind makes all the difference underwater. I’ve been with a lot of operators across Indonesia, but this one is my absolute favorite. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-tier dive experience with heart. I can’t wait to come back and see everyone again. Thank you for everything!

  An absolutely fantastic resort for divers. The crew was professional, safe, and very friendly. The boats were well-organized and the gear was in great condition. The marine life was abundant and the reefs were beautiful. Could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Pure Dive Resort!

  And again this place is PURE joy for divers, pun intended :) but for real, we LOVE this place! Year after year they are offering professional service at beautiful dive sides! my favorite ones are manta point (which is a bit further) and manta bay! We are always lucky to see Mantas all over the place. Can't wait to visit Penida again, for sure to dive with Pure Dive Resort.

  I am a very spontaneous person so the planning process is a mess for both me and the receptionist, Wayan. He is very professional and helpful, that was why I chose this dive shop even though it's much expensive than the other ones on Nusa Penida. However, the actual diving experiences were fantastic. I enjoyed the wonderful vibe on the boat, there's captain speech and cheering every morning, and the staff were all very nice. My guide was Michael, a very experienced DM and a lovely soul. I forgot to mention how beautiful his eyes were. He is always encouraging people, making not only the dives fun, but also the commune time and lunchtime enjoyable. For freediving I would not recommend. Though Artur himself is a talented freediver, I don't think the trip met the description. No complimentary videos as described on the website. Artur's student, Stuss(sounds) was very helpful and did a lot of work, but there was only one camera with four people, so only a few pictures.

  This was my third trip diving with Pure Dive. Had three amazing days diving with the team. Amazing instructors and equipment always come here when I’m in Bali. Highly recommend.
