This was an amazing excursion. Lulu was our guide and she did an incredible job. She explained things that the bus drove by. This was a double decker bus. On the hike every step you took was gorgeous. The waterfalls and river were torrential but beautiful. The glacier itself was so amazing. It was just above a beautiful lake filled with glacial water. The trail was paved and quite easy.

Despite the weather, rain, it was a great adventure, walking up to see the glacier. Be prepared to get wet at the waterfall halfway up.

Great excursion to the Briksdal Glacier. Amazing views all around. Quite an easy walk on sealed roads. Tour guide was fantastic, as is usually the case with Viator.

My wife and I took the Briksdal Glacier tour in Olden through Viator as one of our cruise stops, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our tour guide did a fantastic job providing background and interesting facts about Olden as we made our way to the trailhead for Briksdal Glacier. The hike itself takes about an hour, give or take 15 minutes depending on your pace. There are a few stretches that give your calves a workout, but the effort is absolutely worth it. Along the way, you’ll pass a stunning waterfall that’s both powerful and refreshing, expect to get a little misted as you walk by! Once you hit the waterfall, you’re about halfway there. At the top, you’re rewarded with breathtaking views of the glacier spilling into a crystal-clear aqua blue lake filled with floating ice. The 360-degree scenery throughout the hike is simply picturesque, it’s hard not to stop every few steps to take photos or videos. If you enjoy hiking and are physically able, I highly recommend doing the walk. For those who prefer a less strenuous option, there are “troll cars” available that can drive most of the way up. Our guide also made a photo stop at Olden Lake, which offered a spectacular view of the glacier in the background, a perfect bonus. This was truly a memorable trip, and I would highly recommend it to anyone cruising to or visiting the area!

The walk is strenuous, but the troll tram makes it accessible to all. The walking path can be challenging, but you can also walk along the tram roadway which is paved.
