Embark on a journey to the heart of Oman with a visit to Wahiba Sands, one of the country’s most breathtaking deserts. Meet friendly Bedouin families, learn about their unique way of life, and enjoy a traditional welcome with homemade Omani coffee and sweet dates.
In front of the Bedouin house, you’ll also find camels—if you’d like to try a short camel ride, it's available for just 3 OMR per person, payable directly to the locals.
Continue your adventure to the serene oasis of Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s most iconic wadis. A gentle walk takes you to stunning emerald-green pools, framed by dramatic cliffs and lush palm trees—perfect for a swim or a peaceful break surrounded by nature.
Please note that this tour does not include extreme dune bashing.
You are free to choose whether you would like to visit Wadi Bani Khalid first or start with the Wahiba Sands Desert—just let us know your preference.

Pick-up will be from your hotel or any location within the Muscat area. From there, it’s approximately a 2-hour drive to Wadi Bani Khalid.
Wadi Bani Khalid
We then continue our journey to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the largest and most stunning wadis in Oman. The total visit, including driving time, will be around 3 hours. This impressive wadi features towering canyon walls and breathtaking crystal-clear pools, making it a sight to behold. You can relax and enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool freshwater, sunbathe by the pools, or simply soak in the serene surroundings. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can explore deeper into the wadi or even visit its hidden caves. There’s also an option to enjoy lunch at a local Omani restaurant nearby. Note: If you prefer not to swim, you’re welcome to relax by the first pools, where the water is shallow and easily accessible. We recommend bringing: Sun protection & a hat Good walking shoes Swimwear, extra clothes & a towel Snacks and water Swimwear Guidelines: Ladies are kindly requested to wear shorts (covering the knees) and a t-shirt when swimming in Wadi Bani Khalid.

5.00Our trip to Wadi Bani Khalid and Wahiba sands was amazing and went pretty smoothly. Mr. Fawzi, guided us throughout the tour and took care of us. We really enjoyed his company and his sense of humour kept us entertained all day. We are happy to have booked our day tour with Oman sharing tours adventure.

5.00We had a fantastic experience with Sunshine Tours for our Wahiba Desert ride. Everything was very well organized from start to finish. The transfer from the meeting point was smooth, and the 4×4 drive into the desert was thrilling yet felt very safe. Our driver Fawzi was professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the desert. He made sure we were comfortable throughout the ride and took us to some beautiful spots for photos. The dune bashing was exciting and fun, and the views of the desert were absolutely stunning.

5.00My trip to Wahiba Sands and Wadi Bani was nothing short of unforgettable, and that is entirely thanks to my incredible guide Nasr. From the very beginning, he was exceptionally prompt, professional, and welcoming, instantly making me feel comfortable and excited for the long day ahead. He is a very engaging guide with a genuine passion for Oman, its landscapes, and its culture, which came through in every part of the journey. He drove safely and confidently throughout, allowing me to fully relax and enjoy the dramatic desert dunes and the stunning beauty of Wadi Bani. Along the way, he went above and beyond, taking fantastic photos of me in the best sand dune location, knowing exactly where and when the light would be perfect. These are photos I will treasure. He also surprised me by finding an excellent local restaurant en route, giving me an authentic and delicious taste of the region that I never would have discovered on my own, and for only 3.5 OMR. One of the highlights was being introduced to cardamom milk tea with a sprinkle of saffron along the way, learning about its cultural significance and slowly sipping it along the way. What truly set him apart, though, was his willingness to go the extra mile, literally and figuratively. After sunset, instead of rushing back, he stayed late to join an impromptu wood-burning coffee session with a local family. Sharing coffee, stories, and laughter in that moment (none of which I understood) felt incredibly special and authentic, and it perfectly captured the warmth and generosity of Omani culture. He also knows how to tie a legit looking head scarf! This was not just a tour, it was a deeply personal, immersive experience. If you are considering a trip to Wahiba Sands or Wadi Bani, I cannot recommend this guide highly enough. He turned an amazing destination into a truly extraordinary experience.

5.00Our tour was amazing and truly unforgettable. Our guide, Fawzi, was timely, patient, attentive and professional throughout the whole trip. My wife and son enjoyed his expertise and kindness that made them feel comfortable. He took the time to explain everything and answered all the questions we had. If you’re planning a visit outside of Muscat, I recommend Sunshine Tour and be sure to ask for Fawzi if you can. He took care of us and made this trip so much better.
