Experience the Wonders of Wahiba Sands & Wadi Bani Khalid

Embark on a journey to the heart of Oman with a visit to Wahiba Sands, one of the country’s most breathtaking deserts. Meet friendly Bedouin families, learn about their unique way of life, and enjoy a traditional welcome with homemade Omani coffee and sweet dates.

In front of the Bedouin house, you’ll also find camels—if you’d like to try a short camel ride, it's available for just 3 OMR per person, payable directly to the locals.

Continue your adventure to the serene oasis of Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s most iconic wadis. A gentle walk takes you to stunning emerald-green pools, framed by dramatic cliffs and lush palm trees—perfect for a swim or a peaceful break surrounded by nature.

Please note that this tour does not include extreme dune bashing.

You are free to choose whether you would like to visit Wadi Bani Khalid first or start with the Wahiba Sands Desert—just let us know your preference.

We then continue our journey to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the largest and most stunning wadis in Oman. The total visit, including driving time, will be around 3 hours. This impressive wadi features towering canyon walls and breathtaking crystal-clear pools, making it a sight to behold. You can relax and enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool freshwater, sunbathe by the pools, or simply soak in the serene surroundings. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can explore deeper into the wadi or even visit its hidden caves. There’s also an option to enjoy lunch at a local Omani restaurant nearby. Note: If you prefer not to swim, you’re welcome to relax by the first pools, where the water is shallow and easily accessible. We recommend bringing: Sun protection & a hat Good walking shoes Swimwear, extra clothes & a towel Snacks and water Swimwear Guidelines: Ladies are kindly requested to wear shorts (covering the knees) and a t-shirt when swimming in Wadi Bani Khalid.

Our tour was amazing and truly unforgettable. Our guide, Fawzi, was timely, patient, attentive and professional throughout the whole trip. My wife and son enjoyed his expertise and kindness that made them feel comfortable. He took the time to explain everything and answered all the questions we had. If you’re planning a visit outside of Muscat, I recommend Sunshine Tour and be sure to ask for Fawzi if you can. He took care of us and made this trip so much better.

Amazing trip! Our tour guide, Muneer, made this day unforgettable – special thanks to him. My kids were extremely happy with everything, especially the camel riding. The sunset was absolutely stunning. Recommended!

We had an amazing tour to Wahabi sands desert with the best tour guide: Mohammed!!! We did quad biking, met camels and Watched the Sunset from the sand dunes. Mohammed was such good Company and helped us with everything. Will never forget this trip.

Our unforgettable trip. Wahiba Sands was breathtaking! The comfortable 4WD car made the journey so relaxing, and our guide was absolutely wonderful friendly, professional, and very informative. We truly enjoyed the desert views, sunset, and peaceful atmosphere. Definitely a must-do in Oman!

fawzi was vey competent and helpful. He even help us carry the kid in a slippery area unter the sun. the trip is well organized and went as planned. the water is beautiful and the sunsets in.the desert make it a perfect holiday. next time we would split this trip into two days.

I had an excellent tour! My guide was Hamood and it was excellent. The wahiba sands are so beautiful, and the sunset was wonderful. And swimming in the wadi was magnificent. It is advisable to go to the farther end of the wadi to avoid noise from Nearby construction. And be careful getting in and out of- when they say it’s slippery, they mean it! An excellent tour, well worth it!!

Excellent experience right from the start. Our tour guide Mr Naser was on time,polite,caring and very patient. The place was extremely nice and the sunset was amazing.Best place to visit along with a tour guide like Mr Naser.The old people said he was a gem .Thanks a lot to Ms Rosa who patiently answered all my queries. The Wahiba Sands Desert and Wadi Bani Khalid were absolutely stunning — a perfect mix of vast golden dunes and refreshing turquoise pools surrounded by mountains. The scenery alone made the trip unforgettable. What truly elevated the experience was our guide, Nasr. He was genuine, caring, and adventurous, making every moment smooth and full of good energy. His passion for showing the real beauty of Oman turned a great tour into an exceptional one.

The excursions were very well organized and each trip was planned to the minutest detail. A special thanks to our knowledgeable tour guide, Mr. Ahmed who not only gave us a glimpse of Oman's rich cultural heritage, but also made the sightseeing come alive with his entertaining anecdotes.
