Depart early at 3:00 AM and make the 4-hour drive from Cebu to Oslob. Arrive at Tan-awan, and pick up your snorkeling equipment so you can swim with the whalesharks. Sit down for a brief introduction before you go into the water. Head to one of the famous white sandbar in Cebu which is 15 minutes away from whaleshark station by boat and swim in the crystal clear water of the sandbar. After your whaleshark watching and sandbar swimming, take the opportunity to discover the natural beauty of Tumalog Falls, another must-see site. You will find this place very refreshing, heavenly and relaxing. The falls have mini-umbrellas that cascade fine strands of cold, fresh water in a rain-like fashion.

Travel advisor Ms. Teresa MacReyes ( From Explore Cebu Tours & Travels ).Ms. Teresa MacReyes I really appreciated your communication with me before the trip & during the trip & after the trip, particularly getting the last minute seats for my trip to swimming with Sharks in the Sumion Sandbar island. I had an absolutely fabulous time. I was traveling alone to swim with sharks 🦈 but never felt alone with a group of retirees from 🇺🇸 USA. Thank you.

it was a thrill for us to be in the water with the Whalesharks. However, the aftermath, we felt it is not right that the 2 whalesharks are swimming within a length of less then 150 meters. In order to keep these 2 fish within the catchment area for the tourist business. There are 2 boats that goes up and food is constantly dropped alongside so that these fish will follow the boat. for a fish on this big size. As the boat do not maintin a straight path, the fish hardly swims straight on. Worst still, every 80 meters or so it makes a turn. I reckon it is less then every 10 seconds that it makes a turn back as it follows the 'feeding boat' . I was told that it starts as early as 7ish in the morning and probable ends around 3pm. Can you imagine the fish swimming in this manner for more then 6 hours daily. I regretted spending time and money on this.

So far nothing compares to the whale shark experience in Oslob, Cebu, Philippines. And I mean nothing. Attached are pictures the boatman took that shows me swimming and "playing" with the whale shark. I didnt touch it but due to camera angle, one picture looks as if I am "wrestling" with the whale shark. Another one shows as if it was nudging me. Fantastic. And the cost is less than $10.00 (right ten). When my wife and I took the Alaska cruise and joined the whale watching tour, it costs us $150- each (if memory is correct). And what we saw was the fluke for I think 4 times and at a distance. By the way I rented the underwater camera for $12.00 and requested the boatman to take pictures. The whale shark that I swam with is a baby one. The mother would have been 2.5 its size. But who is complaining 😊😊
