This is a Luxury experience- we have 3 guides (private cowboy with horse, English speaking and guide that tells you details of volcano.)

We book the private lava chef, have chips & salsa on a brilliant colored picnic and your sunset dinner is served with wine-We also have tasting of gourmet chocolates of Guatemala-to accompany S'mores you roast on lava- ALL at the base of an active volcano overlooking 3 other volcanos.

This is the only place you can book a horse for Pacaya. We arrive where your horse will be waiting dressed in the beautiful colors of Guatemala. Each horse has your own private cowboy guide (keeping you safe throughout the entire experience) Ride over lava rock to astounding views of 3 other volcanoes arriving at the foot of Pacaya Volcano. Here your private lava chef awaits you as you roast marshmallows on the hot pockets of the lava and your chef prepares a pizza to be cooked on the lava coals. This is luxury style as your host will prepare a brightly colored Mayan picnic with colorful cushions, blankets and wine service. If sunset tour is available we stay while the sunsets then your cowboy guide leads you safely out in the dark, to your transportation back to Antigua. We are Soul Shine Horse Rescue so a portion of all tours go back to the horses and families. Please note we must have 2 people to do this tour- Please contact us if you are traveling solo and we will try to add you to a tour. We are in dry-season now so the tours begin at 2 pm to get the best possible sunset views! We require 24 hours advance notice for bookings as this is a luxury tour.

We had a really lovely time. The entire experience we felt luxuriously taken care of. We were picked up at our hotel, our guide provided us with snacks and water during the drive over. The team of cowboys we met were friendly and helpful. The ride up the mountain is beautiful. Would absolutely recommend.
This was unique experience to eat pizza up in the volcano cannot get any better.

The trip was excellent the view is incredible and all the guides very knowledgeable from Guy pick us up the the guide explained at the volcano, I highly recommend this trip.

We had the most amazing time on our tour! From start to finish, the experience was fun, and full of unforgettable moments. Our guide Guy was an absolute gentleman patient, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. He shared so many interesting facts about the organization and gave us fascinating insights into the history, culture, and traditions of the native people of Guatemala.

I did Pacaya Volcano Luxury Sunset Horseback Riding Tour + Dinner Cooked by a Lava Chef, and holy hell—10/10. Guy, the guide, picked us up on time and gave us a bunch of info about not only the trip but our future travels in the region, legend.

I got picked up in Antigua by alaska dave and he drove us out to the volcano and back. Yimi was our local guide up and down the volcano with beautiful horses. Niki answered all my questions super quickly while booking. The views were amazing and the pizza was delicious. Definitly recommend this tour

Best tour in Guatemala! The staff at Guatemala Horse Tours are passionate about the horses and their community, and make it a priority for a safe and fun experience. It didn't matter the amount of horseback riding experience, they had wonderful horses and great guides that made you feel comfortable and confident. Nikki is such a passionate person about the tours provided, and there is no tour that can compare to the level of service you receive when booking through Guatemala Horse Tours. Will definitely be back!

Nikki was very friendly and communicative from the start. She was always available for questions and explained things in a clear manner. David was friendly and a great guide. We had a good group where everyone got to know each other and we had a great time. All the accompanying cowboys were helpful and attentive and the horses were well taken care of. The second guide also helped take pictures for us. We loved meeting Nikki’s dogs and the resident volcano dogs (here’s to you, Toffee!). It’s definitely an experience you don’t want to miss.

We were picked up in a pick up truck and drove about an hour to the volcano to begin the tour. The staff didn’t interact with us much and there was an additional charge for wine on top of the 700 we paid for the experience. Overall, it was not luxurious and it was very to the point. Get on a horse, ride it up the volcano, have a pizza and ride back to your hotel in the truck. Not worth the money. Much cheaper options exist if you want to see the volcano and views at a cheaper price.
Don't waste your money!

Horrible experience. Very rude staff. Lack luster. Not worth the money! Beware that after purchasing, you will receive a request to provide additional payment to cowboys.
