Hierapolis ("Holy City") was an ancient Greco-Roamn city in Phrygia located on hot springs in South West Anatolia. Its ruins are adjacent to maodern Pamukkale.
Hierapolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hot springs there have been used as a spa since the 2nd Century B.C.E. and people came to soothe their ailments with many of them retiring or dying here.
Some of the highlights; the large necropolis is filled with sarcophagi, the main street with the gates and latrines, cathedral, the theatre and St. Philips tomb. The hot springs causing cascades which are called the Cotton Castle. Because of the distance we have to leave Antalya early and return late but its worth it to experince this wonderful place.

5.00Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We had an excellent tour guide (Turkish name translated as Fish) who took good care of our group. Punctuality, good knowledge of the history and culture, flexible. We did paragliding as the balloon flights were cancelled due to weather. Will definitely recommend this activity. The walk in the warm waters of Pamukkale was amazing. The overall experience was brilliant. Highly recommended if you have one whole day to spare.

5.00This is a must see pamukkale was amazing in real life, so much more beautiful than any images. It was wonderful to walk and soak feet in the pools. Tour is amazing, tour guide was amazing and took good care of us. Mini buss very comfortable and clean.

1.00Please avoid unless you want to spend a whole bunch of time doing absolutely nothing. The guide kept taking us to different shops to force us to buy things instead of directly taking us to pammukale. Took smoke breaks every 30-40 mins and stopped the bus further delaying us, the whole experience took 13 hours whereas it could have been done in 8-9 hours. Please rent your own car and dont take this experience. Also the guide was not very easy to understand and had a strong accent, soent very less time on actually going through the places with us and explain all the details. Please AVOID!
