Our check in point is at Flamenco Marina, located on the last island of the Amador Causeway. It is right next to the Panama sign and behind the Duty Free Shop. The tour starts at Flamenco Marina. You will board the Pacific Queen and set sail towards the entrance of Panama Canal on the Pacific Ocean. Take a moment to admire the Bay of Panama and Panama City’s splendorous skyline before you pass under the Bridge of the Americas.
Bridge of the Americas
The Bridge of the Americas is a road bridge in Panama, which spans the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal. Designed by Sverdrup & Parcel, it was completed in 1962 at a cost of US$20 million, connecting the north and south American land masses.

Bucket list experience. On time departure from the Fuerte Amador resort right at the pier. Comfortable A/C seating inside along with up top seats outside. Good breakfast with a great lunch. The crew was excellent and the canal history and workings were given in Spanish and English. Took about 6 hours total with transit through 3 locks and then 25 min bus ride back to the resort.

Seeing the cruise of the ships on the mirante is not the same feeling as being crossing inside a boat. I studied about the Panama Canal in books and experiencing the crossing was sensational. We were very lucky because the administration of the Canal allowed the crossing of 3 small boats, which happens only 1% of the times, that is, prepare to go after a huge ship. In that case I imagine that it is better to follow the opening and closing of the "doors" in the back of the boat. We had the privilege of one day to see the crossing of the mirante, which is already fantastic, and another day to be inside the Canal, so we already knew the process of crossing. The organization was excellent. The coffee and lunch (pastry with pieces of chicken and salad) offered is simple and tasty but the quantity is fractional.

Great explanations along the way that helps understand not only what is the transit about but also facts of it.

The entire process is seamless and enjoyable - they've got this down! An excellent way to experience riding on the Panama Canal without going the entire distance. Food was plentiful, and the other travelers were friendly. Great staff. Highly recommended!
