A tour that combines the visit to historic cities of Panama (Old Panama and Casco Viejo) and a visit to the Panama Canal. You can relive histories of the Spanish Colony in our walk through the Old Town (Casco Antiguo) and the stories of the real "Pirates of the Caribbean" in the Old Panama Site. We will finalize in the modern Causeway where you can view of different Marinas and the place where the Panama Canal encounters the Pacific Ocean.

Panama Canal
After picking you up at your hotel, we will go to Miraflores visitor center where you will admire the locks of Panama Canal, one of the most important engineering wonders in the world. In the visitor center you will appreciate the history of the Panama Canal, the biodiversity of the area, as well as an explanation of the operation of the canal. Then we will go to the terrace where you will see the channel's operation with the pass of big ships through the locks and where you can take unforgettable photos.
Casco Viejo
After visiting the Panama Canal we will go to the Old Town of Panama City (Casco Antiguo). We will walk through this site, a World Heritage Site since 1997, which has large squares and churches such as the Church of San José with the great golden altar that was saved from the famous pirate Captain Morgan

5.00I'm a frequent visitor to Panama and have done several tours in the city. This private tour with OLIVER was by far the best, friendliest, and most informative tour ever. If you have the opportunity to travel to Panama, you cannot miss visiting the Panama Canal and the old town, the sites with the greatest tourist development in the country.

4.00Oliver was excellent at describing the history of Panama and of the canal, and answered all our questions about Panama. He was a very good driver and did not rush us. Unfortunately there was no parking in the Casco Viego so we only walked the Herrera plaza and saw what we could as we drove by. Also the access to the Amador causeway was blocked so we didn't go there as planned. The Miraflores visitor center Imax movie was good but other parts of the museum were closed.

4.00When we arrived at the Miraflores Locks, all the boats had already passed, so our guide moved us to Pedro Miguel Locks. There my mother-in-law could see the boats. Later we returned to the museum, where we were charmed by the Mirador. From there was the walking tour in Casco Viejo. The architecture is nice, but the streets are very tight and not so comfortable to walk. We were in wet weather, so in theory it wasn’t that hot (I can’t imagine in dry weather). There were several souvenier and craft shops. We ended up strolling along the Amador Causeway, and taking a photo with the letters "Panama" on the last island. Although we traveled with our young daughter (year and a half), I would not recommend it as she got tired and had to be carrying her (a car would not have been possible, either). That does not detract from the work of the guide, super friendly and knowledgeable of what he explained.
