In addition to delving into the rich historical significance of the Jewish District, our tours stand out for their emphasis on uncovering hidden symbols and lesser-known narratives, providing a comprehensive understanding beyond typical tourist experiences.

The small booking fee you have paid to Viator is an administrative fee to guarantee your spot on the tour. You are encouraged to tip your guide what you feel the tour was worth at the end. We meet and greet you at Elizabeth square ( Erzsébet tér in Hungarian) where our fully licensed local tour guide is waiting for our Travellers. We sketch the itinerary and the major sights along the way including the largest Synagouge in Europe and tell you about the Jews of Hungary. We are going to focus on from the Belle Epoque or Golden Age to the destruction.

We had an amazing experience on the walking tour of the Jewish District in Budapest. The tour was not only informative but also incredibly engaging. Our guide, Ester, was fantastic — warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the history and culture of the area. She brought the stories of the neighborhood to life with her insights and personal touch. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Budapest. Edith was an excellent guide — deeply knowledgeable, and easy to understand. Once the tour began, the content was thoughtful, well-researched, and exactly what I hoped for in a Jewish District experience. I enjoyed the smaller group dynamic vs. Budapest overview tour . That said, the start of the tour was confusing. No one clearly announced that those signed up for the Jewish tour should go with Alice, and the only instruction to the crowd was from the male guide leading the general Budapest tour. Because I arrived early, I knew he wasn’t our guide, but others didn’t — and I suspect some participants never realized there were two separate groups. When I approached Edith, she was telling two other guests there weren’t enough people for the Jewish tour because there were several no-shows. Fortunately more guests saw our small group, figured it out and joined shortly thereafter. But even with eight participants, Edith seemed hesitant and made a few lighthearted comments about it not being too late for us to join the other group. I’m glad we didn’t because the tour ended up being excellent. In hindsight, I would have appreciated more clarity at the meeting point like signs for each tour and perhaps an option to guarantee Edith some compensation upfront if turnout was under eight. I would have missed out had the tour not gone forward, because she delivered a terrific experience once we got underway. Overall: fantastic guide, meaningful tour, but the organization at the start needs improvement so guests aren’t left guessing where to go.

Speaks very good English tries to fit in some interesting stories which make her presentation very vivid. We will take the chance to take another tour
