Elizabeth Square
We meet and greet you at Elizabeth square ( Erzsébet tér in Hungarian) where our fully licensed local tour guide is waiting for our Travellers. We sketch the itinerary and the major sights along the way including the largest Synagouge in Europe and tell you about the Jews of Hungary. We are going to focus on from the Belle Epoque or Golden Age to the destruction.
Deak Ferenc Square
Here we speak about "Gaudiopolis" the City of Joy in Latin and Schutzpass that saved thousands of Jewish life. We also show you the former medieval city wall ruins that excluded Jewish people to trade within the city limits.

Esther was a very good and informative guide. She balanced well the holocaust information which is very serious with lighter pieces of information. Well worth the tour.

Edith is simply great, a passionate person who puts emotion into the excursion, in the end you do not walk much but learn a lot. Be careful however the visit to the ruin bar is not part of the excursion, we explain where it is but to you to go, I recommend it c is great

Esther was our guide and she was great! We are in our early 60’s and one of us walks slowly and one of us is hard of hearing so walking tours are not always a good fit for us. Esther walked at a comfortable pace so I never felt rushed or out of breath. And her use of a microphone projected her voice nicely so my husband could hear her. She was informative and told the history with honesty, sensitivity and a touch of humour when appropriate. I highly recommend.

Great introduction to the Jewish presence in Hungary. Gary presented a detailed history of the Jewish community in Budapest. ie Described the background of the Shoes memorial along the Danube River. Walked to 3 synagogues, which included details about the architecture & history of the Dohány synagogue & related information about the other 2 synagogues. The tour conveniently ended in the Jewish quarter. Highly recommend!
