This was a fantastic experience. The guide was incredibly good. She was informative about the history of Hiroshima, the bombing, and culture. We got a chance to see the museum which was fascinating from a historical perspective and moving from an emotional aspect. Miyajima is beautiful. Our guide kept us on time so we could make our train back to Osaka. Fantastic stuff!

We only had one full day to spend in Hiroshima, and this was a truly fantastic tour. Our tour leader Marin had extensive knowledge and also such fun, positive energy as she led us through the dark WW2 chapter of Hiroshima to share with us its current thriving status and also its earlier history. I commented to my wife while on Miyajima Island, watching the deer and admiring the gorgeous views, how lucky we were to have found this tour with Marin as our guide.

My wife and I cherished our tour with Marin. It was probably the highlight of our 2 week first time trip to Japan. Marin was one of the best guides we’ve ever had, and we travel quite a bit. She was high energy, pleasant, friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and very well prepared. She shared so much history and additional photos and information from a binder she had prepared. We couldn’t recommend her enough. Hiroshima was powerful, solemn but hopeful. The ferry ride and Miyajima island were the highlight for us. Beautiful views and lovely to walk around. The lunch was excellent, and we loved the shops and additional street foods to sample (yuzu, oysters, fried maple leaf treat). We were staying in Kyoto, and were easily able to make the morning meeting time when taking the Shinkansen. There were two options on the line covered by the Japan Rail Pass, and a few additional options if you take the Nozomi line (not covered by JR pass). Would certainly recommend this unforgettable trip, and Marin in particular. Thank you!
