Yes, the Luberon is the most famous region of Provence. Yes, you'll encounter tourists from all over the world. There are over 100 villages in the Luberon but the aim of this tour isn't to rush around and see as much as possible, but to relax and enjoy the places we stop at.
We'll start with Sénanque Abbey, where you can experience the mystical atmosphere of this 12th-century monastery. We'll then make a short stop at the viewpoint overlooking Gordes. A magnificent panorama of this medieval village, a glass of rosé in hand and some local appetizers, I'm sure it will be one of "these" unforgettable moments..
After your lunch, we'll head to Roussillon, a colorful village full of narrow streets lined with shops where you'll find the very best that local artisans have to offer.
This will be your postcard day in the iconic Provence, but also a relaxing day that I invite you to experience in the most authentic way possible.

Gordes
Visiting and strolling in this ancient, beautiful inconic Provencal village from XII century. Its castle and rock houses, small alleys and chic boutiques will make you travel in the past.
Roussillon
An amazing ochre village, lunch time, free time to visit the ochre trail and stroll in the village with its boutiques and cafés. You will learn more about ochre production and admire the beautiful view of Luberon region.

5.00We had a truly fantastic day out with Tom from Happy Day in Provence and would highly recommend him to any visitor to the region! Tom was very organised and a great communicator, both before and during the tour. He checked with us ahead of time about what we wanted to get out of the day and as a result we really loved every moment of our tour out and about in Provence, visiting the beautiful old hilltop towns of Gordes and Roussillon (with all the incredible ochre), and driving through stunning Provençal landscapes. The wine, olives and deli sausages along the way were an absolute treat, and we had plenty of opportunities during the day to explore the towns, have lunch, take photos from lookouts etc. Tom knows the region well and was brilliant at explaining things along the way, including the local wine making processes. He is such a nice guy and took a genuine interest in making sure our tour was the best! Don’t let winter put you off - we had an amazing day out in mid-January! We would HIGHLY recommend Tom and Happy Day in Provence!

5.00Highly recommend this tour, well worth the investment. The guide Tom was extremely professional, courteous, accommodating, and knowledgeable. This was a highlight on our European trip, we will be recommending highly to friends and family. Goes without saying, but the different tours Tom has organized include beautiful landscapes and history, you will not regret any of his tours through southern France. - James

5.00Beautiful surroundings and views! The abbey was very tranquil and peaceful and allowed for a time of reflection whilst also teaching us about the history of the abbey which was fascinating. As a Scot it was very accessible with the tablets as they had the option for English. The reception also had the option to explain how everything worked in English. The abbey itself was gorgeous inside and out and well worth a visit.
