Why not combine our two most popular tours into one? See the sights of the historic port city of Halifax and then take in the famous breathtaking sights of Peggy's Cove.

Our tour would commence from Pier 21 with its Historic block as the "Ellis Island" of Canada, where more than one million immigrants came through and more than 500,000 left from during WWII.

From there we will visit St. Paul's Church, the oldest Anglican church in Canada. As well, St. Paul's Church was among some of the buildings that withstood the Great Halifax Explosion of 1917. We will drive on to Fort Needham Hill where a memorial carillon was built for the victims of that explosion. Then we'll be on to Canada's most famous lighthouse.

Peggy's Cove is one of the most unique, captivating and exhilarating eye-openers in Nova Scotia. The quaint seaside hamlets of Shad Bay, Big Lake, East Dover and West Dover, to mention but a few, are also breathtaking.

I have done many tours all over the world and this was the absolute worst tour. Tour guide, Geneve was terrible. This was to be a tour of Peggy’s Cove and historic downtown Halifax. Started at 11am and before going to Peggy’s cove, she had bus stop at this little burger joint on the side of road that also had lobster rolls, called Shaws landing. She said that she stopped there because there could be lines at restaurants at Peggy’s cove but that is for people to decide if they want to explore or eat and not take up an hour of peoples time in a small restaurant on the side of the road. We stayed there over an hour. Some people got food because they were there, many of us didn’t because we just had breakfast and wanted to go to Peggy’s Cove. By the time, we got to Peggy’s cove, we only had 50 minutes- no time to explore and get food there. She rushed us out and was not pleasant to the people who complained. The microphone on the bus also broke and she just sat there facing forward and talking. Didn’t try to turn around on her knees or hold on to rail to face towards the back of bus so no one in the back half of bus could hear anything. Lastly when she got to the titanic cemetery she just took off with the few people in the front of bus so when the back half got caught up, we had no idea that she was actually talking about the history so we missed that information. All in all, she was a terrible tour guide and mis managed the entire day that it caused so much angst for many of us that none of us enjoyed it. I would say that for a variety of reasons, almost 75% of people on tour were disgruntled!

I am sorry to report that I can’t recommend this tour. Although she was very knowledgeable about the history of everything, our tour guide was hellbent to stop for an hour at an unlisted, remote, isolated restaurant in Dover called Shaw’s Landing, although most on the bus told her they weren’t hungry and preferred to wait to eat lunch at Peggy’s Cove. It felt like someone was getting a kickback for us to stop there. As a consequence, we were hard pressed for time to do any of the remaining listed activities of the tour and most people were worried about getting back to our cruise ships before they raised the gangplanks. Driver of the rented bus was very good and nice. Find a more reliable and truthfull tour.

Our guide, Jonathan was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. However, our time was rushed because of the short time we were in port. We also had to wait for other people who were late. We did not have enough time in Peggy’s Cove because of the late people. but we saw several interesting things in Halifax, although we were only able to do a drive by at the Citidel. We felt that Jonathan should have left the people. We were unable to stop along the way for lunch. When we got to Peggy’s Cove we lost about half our time there eating a quick lunch.. We arrived back at the port in a timely manner

  • Fantastic, small group tour with a great guide.

This was a fantastic experience. It was a small group on a comfortable shuttle bus. Our guide Jonathan made the day fun, interactive and informative. Having a local guide with 20+ years of experience helped avoid the cruise ship crowds, as he customized the stop timing to avoid the big buses. Jonathan shared his extensive knowledge on Halifax and was a delight. We also stopped at a local restaurant, not in the tourist area, for amazing seafood and views. Our experience was seamless and I would recommend this excursion to anyone who is looking for a small group tour with a curated experience.

  • Excellent day touring Halifax and Peggy's Cove

Jonathan was a fantastic guide, taking us to sites in Halifax and then Peggy's Cove including a great lunch. He even stopped for a couple of extra things we wanted to do. Highly recommend.
