Kek Lok Si Temple

One of the most renowned is Kek Lok Si, often described as the largest Buddhist temple complex in Southeast Asia, resembling a spiritual theme park. Built in 1985, visitors can learn about Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism while exploring its beautifully crafted pagodas, vibrant lanterns, intricate statues, and peaceful gardens. 5.00Josh was a phenomenal guide. He planned a trip based on our interest and we did it all. His commentary and knowledge was outstanding. He was so considerate of our mobility issues and conveniently dropped us off close to the venues and was always thinking of how to make it easier for us. This tour was a highlight of our trip!

5.00We had an excellent private tour of Penang with Lester, who should honestly be on the “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Penang” hotline. Friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and full of great stories, he made every stop feel personal—not rushed or scripted. We covered all the must-see Penang sights, and then came the highlight: lunch at a very clean local hawker center where my husband and I were the only tourists. If that’s not a stamp of authenticity, I don’t know what is. The food was amazing, and Lester expertly guided us on what to order and how to eat it—saving us from any accidental culinary faux pas. As a wonderful surprise, Lester also took photos and videos for us, and not just quick phone snaps. Photography is one of his passions, and it showed—we ended up with better vacation photos than we usually manage on our own (and without the awkward arm stretch or stranger assistance). If you want a tour that’s informative, fun, delicious, and comes with bonus professional-level photos, book Lester. 5.00Eng was a knowledgeable and caring guide, who made sure we were informed and educated regarding each place we visited. He knew his stuff and all was shared with lots of humour. We started with a plan for the tour and Eng made sure we achieved it. Special touches like getting tickets for us, and stopping at a local food stand for fried sweet potato and banana were really appreciated. Our transport was very very comfortable and quite lux. Well done Eng!

5.00We had a great tour with Jeff, who was really flexible & pleasant. Jeff’s local knowledge was so helpful in skipping the crowds at many locations - we could not have done this itinerary by ourselves. We covered all the major sights we wanted to see & learnt a lot about the history of the area. Jeff was also very considerate on the pace as we are travelling with our young son. Highly recommend this tour!

5.00We loved our tour of Penang with private tour guide!! Our guide’s name was Mr. Law and right off the bat we knew we chose the right tour as we’re able to customize based on things we wanted to see. In the morning, we contacted Mr. Law and asked if we could start the tour earlier than planned and he was able to accommodate us. We also appreciated all of Mr. Law’s knowledge of the Malaysian/Penang culture which provided great insight and context on everything that we saw. Thank you Mr. Law for making our visit of Penang a memorable and fun one! We highly recommend this tour to tourists, especially first timers, and try to request Mr. Law as your tour guide if you can!
