This is a private tour, meaning it’s just you or your group. Unlike a fixed itinerary tour, this tour allows you to visit the attractions of your choice. The tour starts from the pick-up point. For a 4-hour visit, you can select 2-3 attractions on Penang Island (travel time is not included in the duration). For example, choose from:

Kek Lok Si Temple
During the British colonial era, the Chinese community in Penang flourished, practicing their faith with devotion and building many grand temples—some said to rival, if not surpass, those in China. One of the most renowned is Kek Lok Si, often described as the largest Buddhist temple complex in Southeast Asia, resembling a spiritual theme park. Built in 1985, visitors can learn about Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism while exploring its beautifully crafted pagodas, vibrant lanterns, intricate statues, and peaceful gardens. Don’t miss the breathtaking view of George Town from the temple grounds. As the locals say: “You haven’t been to Penang unless you’ve visited Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si.”
Penang Hill
Penang Hill, is a popular tourist destination known for its cool climate, panoramic views, and rich biodiversity. Rising 833 meters above sea level, it offers a refreshing escape from the tropical heat below. Accessible by the historic funicular railway, the hill features attractions like The Habitat, colonial-era buildings, temples, and viewing decks overlooking George Town and the Straits of Malacca. Its lush rainforest is home to diverse flora and fauna, making it ideal for nature lovers. Penang Hill also plays a role in conservation efforts and promotes eco-tourism through sustainable practices and educational programs.

5.00We throughly enjoyed our half day tour with Jeff this week. We already had sent him a message ahead with some ideas of what we wanted to see and what we had already done independently. He pulled together a varied and well-paced itinerary which took exactly 4 hours from the pick up. There was a god mix of driving to locations and then walking around a variety of sights - which we appreciated in the hot late morning su. Our itinerary included a number of temples, mosques, the waterfront and the UNESCO heritage centre. Jeff was able to answer all our questions and even found us an excellent cafe for a quick coffee stop near Lim jetty. We thought this was well-priced and best suits independent travellers who have done some initial research and have an idea what they would like to do. Note this is a private guided tour - you will not be sharing the experience with other travellers (a bonus!)

5.00Ms. Goh is a gentle and attentive guide who put me at ease during my first trip traveling with my parents. She adapted the itinerary based on the weather and our wishes (we were eager to try local durian!), and gave detailed explanations of the differences between the temples we visited. We came away having learned so much. Highly recommend for anyone interested in local culture — Ms. Goh is always happy to answer questions!

5.00Our family of four had a wonderful experience on the Penang: Flexible Half-Day Escapes tour. A huge compliment to our guide and driver, Mr. Law Hock Chye, who was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and very accommodating — especially since we were travelling with two seniors and a small baby. He tailored the itinerary perfectly to suit our group’s needs. We especially enjoyed our visit to the Pinang Peranakan Mansion, and even though it was raining, the comfortable car tour around George Town allowed us to learn so much about Penang’s rich history. We also appreciated the stop at The Guan Yin Temple, where we could pay our respects and make wishes for family blessings. Communication via WhatsApp before the tour was excellent, and Mr. Law even walked us back to the embarkation point for our return to the ship — such thoughtful service! Overall, 5-star service from both the tour guide and the company. We will definitely book again when we return to Penang for a longer stay!

5.00Our tour guide Lester was caring, enthusiastic & knowledgeable. He brought us to Penang Hill where our 3 & 1/2 year old son thoroughly enjoyed the furnicular ride up & down the hill. The views from the top were breathtaking! Along the way in our private car, Lester shared quite a few inside stories about Penang’s history with us. And we also saw some famous street art along Armenian Street. Thank you Lester! Highly recommended :)

5.00Booked a private 4 hour flexible tour. It was fantastic Anson our driver guide was waiting for us and took us to ALL the important sites we wanted to visit before the crowds. Penang is an amazing place to visit well worth the trip. Thank you Anson.

5.00We had a great day in Penang. Law was a great guide who was very knowledgeable and flexible. He showed us everything we wanted to see, gave us the history, and then allowed us to stop here and there for shopping and local food - yummmm!! We highly recommend Law for any tour in Penang.
