Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine and the limitations of street food vendors means we unfortunately cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour so no-one is disappointed ✘ Unsuitable for vegetarians, vegans, no-pork diets and those who follow a vegan diet ✘ Unsuitable for severe allergies. ✘ Unsuitable for severe gluten intolerances / coeliac, there are traces of gluten in soy sauce. ✔ Suitable for lactose intolerances. ✔ Suitable for no beef diets. Penang might be one of South East Asia’s lesser visiting spots, but the culinary scene more than measures up to its neighbors. Four hours of feasting on our curated daily food experience awaits. Master your chopstick skills over sizzling plates of Hokkien char and char ho fun, dip lok lok in simmering aromatic hot pots, mop up daals and vegetable curries on banana leaf thalis and discover what colourful Nyonya kueh are among more than a dozen more sumptuous tastings at places you’d struggle to find alone.

5.00We had a fantastic evening with Sandy taking part in the Penang food tour. Sandy shared such a lot of interesting information about the local food and culture of Penang. Each dish we tried was unique and of course delicious! Some so good we returned to eat them again the next day. Definitely worth taking part when you visit Penang. Thank you Sandy!

5.00Very mature and planned route. There are three larger meals of Meal in the process, the rest being a variety of street snacks and desserts. For food, everyone tastes different, my favourites are ninny desserts and street-pulled tea. Our leader, Ken, has an amazing store of knowledge about local cuisine, and if you have a question, he'll be tireless in answering it, and he'll miss no opportunity to talk to you and avoid the cold snap. For a big appetite, this itinerary should satisfy your food cravings. For those with a small appetite, remember to stop at the shallow taste, or perhaps the last few stops will have to be tasted with your eyes.

5.00Fantastic tour! Sandy , our guide was so informative & passionate about sharing her love & knowledge of local food. We went to places we would have walked by & not known what delights lay inside . I am gluten intolerant & Sandy was super helpful on what I could have & what to avoid . Definitely go hungry as stuffed by end of night!

5.00Sandy is just everything you would want in a food guide, goes above and beyond to explain not just the flavours and techniques of making the food, but also the cultural heritage behind each dish. She’s so passionate about food and Penang. Food was great, varied (something for every taste) and most places are hidden gems a tourist wouldn’t find. Overall, a great evening, worth every minute and penny!

5.00Excellent intro to the great varieties of Penang’s mixed cultures of cuisines! Lots and lots of food - pace yourself which is hard. Wife could not finish the last few tastings, but I pushed through for science.
