I have been working as a group leader for years, and Mirjana is our local guide in Split. I have joined her on more than 10 tours, and every single time I learned something new about Split, Dalmatia, and Croatia. Her tours are not only about history and monuments but also about everyday life in Split, which makes the experience much richer and more personal. Having worked with many local guides, I can honestly say Mirjana is the best. She understands what people are truly interested in, listens carefully, and adapts each tour to the needs of her guests. I highly recommend her.

We had an absolutely fantastic walking tour of Split with Mirjana from The Storyteller Croatia! From the very beginning, Mirjana's warmth and passion for her city were evident. She has a unique gift for storytelling that made Split’s history come alive—her knowledge is impressive, but it's the way she weaves facts with legends and personal insight that truly sets her apart. We explored Diocletian’s Palace, winding old streets, and hidden corners we would’ve easily missed on our own. Mirjana shared fascinating stories, historical context, and even a few local secrets that gave us a deeper appreciation for the city. We enjoyed the tour so much we booked another tour with her for the next day! Both tours were fantastic. We especially enjoyed the tour that focused on socialist architecture and brutalism, which was thought provoking, personal, and helped us see the city through a completely different lens. This tour was a bit off the beaten path, and it was refreshing to explore an area that is often overlooked – as well as a little break from the busier streets in the old town. She was also incredibly friendly, patient, and happy to answer all our questions, making the experience feel personalized and intimate. By the end of the tour, we felt connected—to the city, its history, and its people. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Split. If you want more than just a sightseeing tour, and instead want to feel the spirit of the place, book with Mirjana - a real local expert. We had been on an Intrepid tour, and our Intrepid guide recommeded this tour as a great way to see and hear about the most interesting parts of Split. And our guide delivered. I really had the sense that the guide lived and breathed the local history, and she had a nice way of bringing the stories to life - almost as if she was as excited to be on the tour as we were. The tour itself was also the perfect length.

So knowledgeable and so interesting hearing about the history of Split. Really enjoyed it. Seeing it from a different aspect at nighttime was different to seeing it through the day.

If you want to hear dry historical facts, lots of dates and boring descriptions of buildings, then don't call Mirjana to guide you through Split. If you are interested in stories about what life is really like in Split and if you really want to get to know the soul and heart of this beautiful city, then Mirjana is the right choice for you. She loves her city and will present it with great love and enthusiasm so that you can understand its essence. Mirjana, a storyteller from Split.

The tour was wonderful. Mirjana turned out to be a passionate, warmhearted and very funny storyteller. I could have listened to her for a long time. Her conviction that traveling and interacting with locals connects and enables respectful encounters at eye level is very beautiful. Thank you for the good energy this morning!

I cannot speak highly enough of Mirjana! We spent two hours exploring Split with her and were so impressed with not only her knowledge of the history of the city but also how she wove in elements of physics and culture. We finished with a touching discussion of some of the culture and conflict and the journey of Croatia. Such a kind soul and beautiful storyteller; thank you for sharing with us!

Mirjana was a superb tour guide, she provided a detailed anecdotes of the history of Split. The stories and experiences she shared were very welcoming and enhanced our tour of the city. If you are visiting Split and would love to learn more about this great city, I would highly recommend Mirjana as your tour guide!

Been on more than a handful of tours in my life and by far this one was the best. Mirjana made you really imagine what it was like to be back in the Roman Empire Era in Split and how Diocletians Palace came to fruition. She answered so many questions and was so knowledgeable about Croatian history in general with everything from the Roman Empire and the wars back then to the more recent ex-YU War in the 90s. If there’s anyone you need to do a tour of Split with she is your go too, you will not regret it trust me. Will be back again. Fala Lipa Mirjana!!

Mirjana was a perfect tour guide!! She had sooooo many great facts about Split and Diocletian’s palace. We had a big group and she talked loud and confidently for everyone to hear. Her personality was excellent and her English was very impressive. I would highly recommend a walking tour with her!
