If you would like to experience the splendour of Table Mountain without a tireless hike to the summit, this is the route for you. The Pipetrack is a contour path on Table Mountain, which runs along the base of the Twelve Apostles, on the western slopes of the mountain. It offers superb views of Lion’s Head, Camps Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. There are some uphills, but they are not too strenuous, which makes this hike suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

PLEASE NOTE: This hike does not go to the top of Table Mountain to the cableway.

This walk is for the whole family, all fitnesses and all ages. Your guide will take you along the Pipe Track following the lines of the 12 Apostles mountains overlooking the spectacular views of Camps Bay. The hike takes approximately 2 – 3 hours. PLEASE NOTE: This hike does not go to the top of Table Mountain to the cableway.

We had an incredible day hiking with Lynette Wilms from OTC Adventures. She guided us through Plattekip Gorge and along the scenic Pipe Track, and even took us up to Signal Hill afterward for stunning views and photos of Table Mountain. Lynette thoughtfully scheduled our 5:30 a.m. departure to make the most of the early shade and avoid the African heat. Her knowledge of South African history, Cape Town, and the local flora and fauna was truly impressive—she answered every question we had and shared fascinating insights throughout the day. She was also exceptionally kind and patient. I’m not the fittest hiker, and she never made me feel rushed when I needed to take breaks. On top of all that, she’s a fantastic photographer and knew all the best spots for memorable shots. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, thanks to Lynette’s expertise, warmth, and thoughtful guidance.

It was an excellent time spent in nature. Our guide Lynett is an amazing lady who knows the mountain like the palm of her hand. That amazied me. Lynett thrilled me how passionate she is about her job. Lynett thanks one more time, if I come back in Cape Town or surrounding area I will chose you again 🤗

We went on this beautiful hike with Lynette! She was really welcoming to us and gave us many information about the city and its vegetation. It was so lovely to meet her. The hike has beautiful views and is accessible! I recommend booking tours with OTC Adventures 200 %.

What a pleasure to hike Table Mountain with Lynette. The entire experience was 5 stars. Lynette reached out in advance to prepare us for the hike and was very knowledgeable and fun to hike with that day. We made it to the summit before all the tourists and it was magical. She also shared recommendations for other things to do in the city and on the Garden Route. Thank you Lynette for your guidance. Our experience was bar none. Can't wait to do it again next time we visit.

Lynette was a great source of Information about both Cape Town- pointing places out while we were hiking, as well as the local flora and fauna. She adjusted the plan for the day based on our schedule and the weather so we would still get the most out of the experience. She also made stops along the way for great photo opps! Had a fabulous time!

Lynette was a wonderful tour guide. Her knowledge of the place was amazing. We along with our two young daughters had an amazing time. If ever we go back to Cape Town we are definitely going to hike the Table Mountain with her.
