  We had a great tour with Vincenzo as our guide. The organization was very communicative and accommodating to our group. The price of the tour was definitely worth it with easy pick up/drop off not far from the train station, which took the stress away of figuring out our own transport to the sites. It was a great opportunity to see both Pompeii and Herculaneum with someone who is very knowledgeable and able to explain the history. It was also nice to be with a local, hanging out with Vincenzo for the day added to our amazing experience to share his recommendations for the rest of our time in Naples.

  Our tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum was fantastic. Our guide, Roberta, was great. Her knowledge of both Pompeii and Herculaneum, and how she took us through both sites was wonderful. We enjoyed every minute of this tour.

  Roberta is an excellent guide. She really knows her stuff about Pompeii and Herculaneum. We spent a wonderful day on a private tour with her. Pizza lunch was great too. She picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. I highly recommend her.

  Our group of five thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Our tour guide Andrea(s) was both personable and funny, and went out of his way to learn everyone’s name and incorporate us into the tour. This was the first, second and third visit for different members of our group, yet we all got something out of it and learned something new. This tour was the first of a two plus week trip spanning Sorrento, Sicily, and Malta and our group resoundingly said that Andrea(s) was our favorite guide for the entire trip. I’d highly recommend this tour.

  Manuela was a spectacular guide and really knows the rich history of Pompeii and Herculaneum. She customized our tour to make sure we saw everything.

• Fantastic visits to Herculaneum/ Pompeii with mobility challenges addressed

  Our daughter has mobility challenges and uses a wheelchair for longer distances. I reached out to a couple of tour companies and was absolutely thrilled that we went with Mondo Guides. Federica answered the phone initially and was completely fantastic, quickly sorting out where a driver could meet and drop us with pedestrian zones and multiple entrances etc. It all made me feel so confident before we arrived that the day would go well. She organized a driver, Tony, to pick us up at the hotel in Naples, take us (along with luggage and wheelchair) to Herculaneum to meet our guide, then to delicious lunch (arranged by Mondo), then to Pompeii (another guide), and finally on to our hotel in Sorrento. The day was absolutely amazing on all levels. Tony the driver was professional, friendly, and went the extra mile throughout the day. For example, we talked about various pastries during lunch and then while we were with the guide at Pompeii, he went and bought us a beautiful selection to sample later! His car was super comfortable and easy with luggage and wheelchair. He called ahead to make sure the guides would meet us curbside, and even co ordinated with our Sorrento hotel for them to come and meet us a block away as they were in a pedestrian zone. Federica was our guide in Herculaneum and Maria took us through Pompeii. They were both professional, friendly, highly knowledgeable, and very sensitive to our mobility needs – planning out an appropriate route before we even got there, and offering options and choices for to maximize the visit. Their English was excellent and they were a delight to spend time with - absolutely made our visits both easy and memorable. We learned many things, had all our questions answered, and saw so much detail. As an example of their personal touch, Maria had our daughter lean in to a fountain and place her arm where thousands of Roman citizens would have done, as there was an indent in the marble. Federica asked about hats, water, and stamina before we even began the tour, then she contacted Maria and co-ordinated the visits so we saw mostly private dwellings with her, and public sites with Maria. Both very thoughtful and incredibly well informed about the sites and area history. I would A plus recommend this service and would absolutely use them again. A wonderful experience. • A never to be forgotten experience of two treasures!

  This was a truly magical trip that we'll remember forever. I took my 12 year old son and the whole day worked brilliantly, exactly to our requirements and beyond. Roberta was a fabulous guide and we learned so much. She was fantastic with my son and we thought both Herculaneum and Pompei were just wonderful. We were able to plan the day to suit the weather and our interests and we felt like we got some real insight into both the life and times of these Roman towns but also the work of the archaeologists. Andrea, our driver, was always in the right place at the right time and made the day really comfortable.

  We had a great driver take us from our hotel, keep our luggage and bags safe while we took a guided tour of Herculaneum, and then our driver picked us up again and he drove us to the train station. Wonderful and well organized experience.
