5.00Romolo's tour was honestly one of those once in a lifetime experiences you dream about when visiting a place like Pompeii. We were lucky enough to visit on Sunday, March 1, not realizing entry to the park is free the first Sunday of every month. We arrived in the early afternoon, and Romolo picked us up at the train station to ensure that we had as much time as possible in the park. Romolo was born locally and his family has been involved with Pompeii for generations (his grandfather even helped with excavations years ago). He knows the area extremely well and was so excited to share that knowledge with us. I can't recommend him highly enough, and I also recommend visiting Pompeii in the winter months. The ruins were not very crowded, and the streets completely emptied out close to closing time. My husband and I were able to stand in the amphitheater entirely alone and we got some amazing photos. I would have no hesitation about booking this tour again - even with about 3 hours we only saw about a quarter of the park.
Incredible! Romolo is a must have for your time at Pompeii.

5.00Very good tour of Pompeii. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. Romolo was a great guide and was enthusiastic about Pompeii and the tour. Having a guide at a site like this brings the history to life and adds needed context. Would recommend.

5.00It will greatly enrich your knowledge about the city of Pompeii! From feats of engineering, to work, and family life. Romolo knew so much and was passionate about the history. He pointed out so many details that made you understand what everyday life was like before the tragedy that ended it all. He was funny, engaging, and kept a pace we were comfortable with. One of our favorite things we have done in Italy!

You could tell he truly loves what he does. I especially enjoyed learning so much about Pompeii’s culture, daily life, and the events surrounding the eruption. 5.00Amazing tour guide, not only was Remolo very knowledgeable he was a great personality that made the tour even more enjoyable. We had older family members who need to take their time walking and Remolo was very considerate.

He tailored the tour perfectly to our interests and needs, and it was clear throughout how much he cared about making sure we learned as much as possible and truly enjoyed our time in Pompeii. An exceptional guide – highly recommended!

5.00It was my first time visiting Italy and Pompeii. At first, I thought the place might not really interest me, but our tour guide Romolo completely changed my impression! The way he shared the history of Pompeii was so fascinating that I became really engaged and curious to learn more. Also, English is my second language, and I really appreciated how clearly and simply he explained everything. It made the tour easy to follow and very enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour and Romolo as a guide!
