  Romolo was great! Hands down probably the best tour we’ve had. Private tours is the only way to go. Pompeii is enormous, so it was nice to have a local point out the most interesting portions. It saved us wandering around looking at the same stuff or getting lost in the labyrinth of houses. Perfect for the amount of time we had.

  Romolo was a first class guide for our tour of Pompei. He was so engaging, especially with our 13 and 11 year old children. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed and explored for another two hours after parting ways. I would recommend Romolo to anyone.

  We had a great time! Romolo was very responsive with my questions prior to the trip. We also really enjoyed the private tour. Having a large group can make everything slow and difficult. However with it being just the three of us, we moved at our pace and got to see and learn about so much more. He kept us engaged and interested, 2 ish hours was perfect.   Romolo was so very incredible!! He knew every little fact imaginable regarding Pompeii! His grandfather was one of the excavators of Pompeii, so he has grown up with all this amazing history!   Romolo's tour was honestly one of those once in a lifetime experiences you dream about when visiting a place like Pompeii. We were lucky enough to visit on Sunday, March 1, not realizing entry to the park is free the first Sunday of every month. We arrived in the early afternoon, and Romolo picked us up at the train station to ensure that we had as much time as possible in the park. Romolo was born locally and his family has been involved with Pompeii for generations (his grandfather even helped with excavations years ago). He knows the area extremely well and was so excited to share that knowledge with us. I can't recommend him highly enough, and I also recommend visiting Pompeii in the winter months. The ruins were not very crowded, and the streets completely emptied out close to closing time. My husband and I were able to stand in the amphitheater entirely alone and we got some amazing photos. I would have no hesitation about booking this tour again - even with about 3 hours we only saw about a quarter of the park.

  We had the most amazing day with Romolo. He was informative, engaging and full of detailed snippets that made you see the city of Pompeii as if you were there 2000 years ago. I highly recommend him for your tour of this amazing city!

  Very good tour of Pompeii. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. Romolo was a great guide and was enthusiastic about Pompeii and the tour. Having a guide at a site like this brings the history to life and adds needed context. Would recommend.

  It will greatly enrich your knowledge about the city of Pompeii! From feats of engineering, to work, and family life. Romolo knew so much and was passionate about the history. He pointed out so many details that made you understand what everyday life was like before the tragedy that ended it all. He was funny, engaging, and kept a pace we were comfortable with. One of our favorite things we have done in Italy!

  Had an excellent experience with Romolo. Unlike some tour guides who seem to rattle off factors and figures in a rote manner, Romolo was animated and engaging. I would definitely seek him out again for more tours.

  Our private guided tour with Romolo was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Pompeii and brought the history of the ancient city to life with fascinating details and stories. You could tell he truly loves what he does. I especially enjoyed learning so much about Pompeii’s culture, daily life, and the events surrounding the eruption. It made the entire experience unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour and Romolo as a guide.
