Experience Irish Whiskey caters for all levels of the modern day aficionado. We offer 6 whiskies which are all premium Irish whiskey styles and carry their own amazing brand story. With vast experience under his belt Derek will be versatile in his delivery and cater for all knowledge and whiskey experience levels.
The experience carries 6 whiskies where you are guided through by a whiskey professional. The only thing separating the whiskey on offer will be the age, rarity or style of the whiskey. A welcome drink in the form of a whiskey cocktail as well as drinking water will be provided.
By remaining in the comfort of the traditional pub you can really become acquainted with the beautiful drinks on your tasting mat and engage fully with your host and whiskey professional Derek.
Derek will be happy to answer any questions and will love to interact about Irish pub culture and traditions-His other passion.
No other whiskey experience immerses the guest as we do here at EIW

At Experience Irish Whiskey we will ensure that our guests have the most memorable and engaging whiskey experience available. Depending on where you are on your whiskey journey our tasting mat will have something for everyone. Our experience is very unique in Dublin as it is immersive and we remain in the comfort of the traditional pub setting while enjoying some of the best whiskey on the island! Once nestled into the comfort of the pub, a true authentic heritage bar, we will sit, get acquainted and we will chat through Irish pub culture and its history before we start sampling. From here we meet our whiskies - 6 in total. Our 6 Premium Irish Whiskey selection takes into consideration the true new artisan distillery's of Ireland as well as the bigger pot still whiskey makers that have stood the test of time! Now you can taste Irish whiskey like local whiskey fanatics do! We will then dive into Irish whiskey history, various styles of our spirit and the story behind each brand, all the while discussing the sensory overload delivered by each glass.. 5.00I‘m not a big Whiskey drinker at all, but our tasting experience (+ Irish coffee making class!) was really amazing. Super entertaining story-telling and valuable bottles from his personal collection. Would love to learn more next time I’m in Dublin and would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in the history and making of Whiskey!😍

1.00Operator was a no show with no communications at all- waste of time, expecting a refund - bar host said he was double booked with another tour at another time at another bar

5.00Can't say enough about Derek and his fantastic Irish Whiskey Tasting experience. We were return customers, as my husband and I did the Irish Coffee Making class during our visit in Jan '24. This time we brought at group of friends for our own private tasting in the exclusive Michael Collins room at the iconic Bank Bar and saying it did not disappoint is a HUGE understatement. Derek is extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind and very entertaining. The whiskies were diverse and delicious. We will be back again for certain.

5.00Derek was like the gandalf of whiskey, he know everything, even the silly questions I asked, looks sharp knows what he is talking about and a legend of a bloke, I'm now a whiskey drinker and so is Tim.

1.00My wife and I were supposed to do this on the Monday we arrived, but the operator messaged us and asked to reschedule several hours before due to a family illness. Of course we were happy to oblige even though the new day/time would shorten the experience. However, as our trip shifted, we asked to reschedule for the following day, and the operator did not respond. We sent a follow up message and he still did not respond. Finally we requested a refund but were only refunded half because he said he had already set up his space for us. Though unfortunate, it was due to his lack of checking his own messages rather than our negligence. If he had read the message we sent the day before, he would have known we could not be there. We find this unfair as the experience is not cheap and the operator was unresponsive, even though we were quite accommodating to his last minute request.

5.00SO Glad we opted for this tasting! We’d looked at a single-brand tasting option, but chose this since it would be my bf’s first whiskey tasting. What a PERFECT choice! Patrick was so knowledgeable and passionate. It was a pleasure to spend a couple hours with him.

5.00Booked for a stag party, throughly enjoyed by all. Derek is a hugely knowledgable host, tried some great Irish Whiskies and learned plenty along the way, I would highly recommend!
