Travel the entire south coast of Iceland with Hidden Iceland over two adventure filled days! Take in the impressive Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, as well as the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Walk along the ridges of Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon before coming to our accommodation for the night. There’s a chance you’ll see the Northern Lights dancing across the sky. We start the next day at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon where the giant icebergs float around and wash up on Diamond Beach. From here we drive to meet up with our local ice cave experts from Local Guide to embark on our Ice Cave adventure. We travel in their specialised Super Jeeps to get closer to the glacier. You'll get up close and personal to the astonishingly beautiful ice formations of an outlet glacier of the enormous Vatnajökull icecap, with an ice cave & glacier hike tour. The textures, light and colours will leave you in awe!

Seljalandsfoss waterfall
The thunderous Seljalandsfoss waterfall, falling nearly 60 metres. It may be possible to walk behind this waterfall for amazing views, when it’s not icy. The waterfall is a result of melting glacial ice pouring down from the peak of Eyjafjallajökull.
Skogafoss
Our next stop at the famous Skógafoss waterfall. This 200ft fast flowing vertical waterfall can be enjoyed from afar or up close. Just remember to wear your waterproofs if you go to the very front. You can hire some Hidden Iceland waterproofs if you want to get really close. On sunny days you might be treated to a rainbow appearing in the mist of the waterfall. The majesty of this waterfall is not lost on popular culture either with both Game of Thrones and Vikings using this location for filming.
Reynisfjara Beach
Next up, we head to Reynisfjara to see the amazing rock formations at this spectacular black sand beach. The angular basalt columns with their hexagonal shapes are the perfect photo spot on calm days. In summer you might get to spot some very cute puffins nesting in the cliffs overhead. In winter you are often treated to some intense crashing waves. One thing is for sure, you’ll get lost in thought as you wander along the volcanic black sand. For those of you who haven’t brought food with you, the Black Beach Restaurant is a great spot to test out some local produce. The locally grown turnip soup is a Hidden Iceland guide favourite!
Vik
A short photo stop in this seaside town or a chance to grab some snacks from the supermarket in town.
Fjadrargljufur Canyon
This almost unpronounceable canyon is a stunning place for a walk to viewpoints for stunning photos.
Skaftafell National Park
We pass through Skaftafell National Park where you will get views of Iceland's highest mountains and its enormous glaciers.

The famed iceberg filled lagoon of Vatnajökull National Park is a sight that you will never forget.
Vatnajokull Glacier
We join our partners from Local Guide of Vatnajökull in their amazing Super Jeeps to reach the remote ice caves of the enormous Vatnajökull glacier. The blues and textures of these natural ice caves will leave you in awe. We will hike from the super jeep to reach the front of the glacier where we can explore the inside of this icy giant, and go for a short hike on the glacier
Fellsfjara
Walk along the black sand shores of Diamond Beach where enormous icebergs from the glacier lagoon wash up on the beach. The icebergs glisten on the black sand shores like diamonds. Definitely one unique beach visit.
We pass through the enormous moss covered lava fields of Eldhraun on our way back to Reykjavik. We will stop at one of our favorite restaurants on our way back to Reykjavik for a late lunch / early dinner.

5.00Traveled to Iceland last fall for my husband's 50th Birthday. Can't say enough good things about this wonderful company. Top notch from beginning to end. Easy communication throughout the planning. They actually helped us. book two separate tours back to back and arranged for the overnight stay in between. We did the 2 day Glacier Lagoon and the 1 day golden Circle. Both of our tour guides were amazing. Very informative and kept us safe. Truly a spectacular experience and would highly recommend. It was the perfect way to experience Iceland without having to worry about driving ourselves. Highly recommend.

5.00Incredible experience! Our guide was fantastic and we loved hearing all about the sites that we saw as well as Icelandic culture. He also made last minute stops for the group to take amazing photos, including a northern lights stop!

5.00Our once-in-a-lifetime trip to Iceland wouldn't have happened without Aaron at Hidden Iceland. His recommendations allowed us to explore some beautiful places and meet wonderful people on the shared 2-day tour, as well as the Golden Circle tour. I finally got to see the gorgeous Northern Lights - which was at the top of my bucket list! And we really lucked out with Bjorn as our guide for both tours - he was amazing and his knowledge of all things Iceland really blew me away! The only thing we didn't care for was the whale watching tour on the large boat, but I can't blame Aaron for that one - we picked it (if you want to do it - go on one of the smaller boats). I've told all of my friends - a visit to Iceland is a must!

5.00We did the two day South Coast trip. Einar made our trip so memorable! He was able to answer all of our questions about Icelandic life and was so flexible in optimizing our itinerary for the weather. He moved one waterfall visit to the second day so we could take advantage of the better weather to visit the glacier lagoon and diamond beach in the sunshine, and made a side trip to a grocery store at our request to accommodate our wish for a licorice hunting expedition! We learned some words of Icelandic. Additionally, Einar was so friendly and funny and constantly checking to make sure we were having the best time possible. We had a wonderful glacier hike with Martin who works with Local Guides which partners with Hidden Iceland, also a local outfit. . Hidden Iceland is a great small local outfit and would be well worth it. I would not hesitate to use them again, especially Einar!

5.00This tour felt like a private tour from the moment Einar picked us up. He was engaging, fun and knowledgeable. He provided thoughtful answers to our curious questions and shared important cultural facts about living in Iceland. We especially appreciate his willingness to adjust the itinerary based on weather conditions and timing so we could get the best experience possible. Einar made our 2 day south coast tour feel like a week with him - but in the best way. Booking this tour was one of the best decisions we made for our intro to the gorgeousness that is Iceland.

5.00Einar was a great tour guide for our group of 8. He was knowledgeable, funny, considerate, helpful, and took great care of our group. He was flexible and somehow also kept us on schedule. We saw our entire itinerary plus some fun extras! Would definitely recommend Hidden Iceland and Einar for any future Iceland touring needs!

5.00We visited in October when the weather is unpredictable, but our guide, Einar, was able to make sure we had the best conditions to see each sight. He was friendly and able to share so much about Icelandic culture and history with us. The glacier hike was a second day highlight. There is so much packed into this 2 day tour you will not regret booking this tour.

5.00Einar was a fantastic guide. He was informed. Interesting, and responsive. He was able to keep the tour moving, while rearranging stops as we moved to take advantage of the most advantageous weather and lighting for visiting. Each stop was spectacular! Also, the local guides used for the ice cave and glacier hike were excellent!

5.00This was actually our third tour with Hidden Iceland in one trip. It was wonderful, they contracted with a professional guide, Bjorn, who was fantastic. He wasn't just knowledgeable, but quite skilled in transporting our group of twelve from point-to-point in the very spacious bus. In the evening he set up his camera for a long exposure and got us pictures under the Northern Lights, which were just visible on this tour on that night. My group was super nervous about the glacier hike component, which we wanted to do but hadn't done before. Hidden Iceland provided the necessary gear so we didn't have to buy a lot of expensive niche hiking boots and rain jackets/trousers. The group they contracted with had a great glacier guide as well, Kasha, and we got some really cool photos. The guide also was great at recommending food at the stops, which we really valued as well. I would absolutely book with Hidden Iceland again just based on my experiences with their guides and the home office communication (Thank you again Rita!).
