At Langaround we offer tailor made full day wine tours that will help you discover the magic wines of Piedmont.

During the day you will have the chance to taste wines from different producers, vintages, villages, grapes; from Barolo to Barbaresco, Barbera and Dolcetto. You will certainly find something to bring home and drink in case you will feel Piedmont-sick. Meeting great winemakers and looking some of the most beautiful vineyard in the world, will make you breathe the unique atmosphere that make this piece of land so beautiful.

On a typical full-day tour we arrange two/three visits in order to dedicate the right time to each tastings; in between you can’t miss a lunch in one of the fantastic Trattoria with some genuine local food.

Langhe landscapes

Langhe, in the south of Piedmont, are the world-famous wine region where Barolo and Barbaresco are the protagonists. A fantastic wine district and one of the most well-known in Italy, that in summer 2014 was placed on UNESCO’s list of “World Heritage Sites”. The landscape is defined by a smooth succesion of hills, shaped by the expert hands of the locals and guarded by imposing medieval castles. In this wonderful land you can find serenity and pleasure that you can’t find at many places today; many people who visit this area have a great interest in food and wine and this is exactly what the area is famous for. Langhe are now considered a Gourmet Mecca; here you will meet people in search of genuine flavours and come here to drink good wine, enjoy fantastic food and taste the finest White truffles.

We had a wonderful time in Langhe with Matteo. He has an excellent knowledge of the area, and he took us to locally owned small wineries to get the most authentic experience possible. Also, the place he took us to for lunch was truly incredible and was one of the highlights not just of the day, but our entire trip to Italy. Highly recommend.

Matteo was fantastic! He had so much knowledge of the area and history to share while driving and took us to private tours at world class wineries and an amazing lunch with a beautiful view. Only complaint is I wish he could have had drinks with us because he was so much fun.

Matteo is an absolutely fantastic guide! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He went above and beyond for my husband and me - even found a lunch spot with vegan food options - NOT easy in that region! It was an amazing, intimate experience and I completely recommend it.

Matteo was very knowledgeable on the wines in the region and the vineyards themselves. He picked us up at our hotel in Alba on time, his car was comfortable and English was good. Our day consisted of seeing two high-end wineries in the Barolo and Barbaresco regions as well as a tour of the town of Barberesco. We stopped at a castle on top of a hill for lunch (my wife and I still talk about this meal…so good). At our request, he even pulled over to the side of the road so we could take photos of the beautiful Italian countryside. 10/10 and would definitely do this again! Make sure to ask for Matteo!

We had a wonderful day with Matteo. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and showed us three great wineries. This area is incredibly beautiful and if you like wine, should not be missed. Matteo was every responsive and easy to work with. Overall, a great experience.

My husband and I traveled to the Piedmont region specifically to visit wineries in the Barolo and Barbaresco areas. We didn’t want to drive ourselves and weren’t sure which wineries to choose. We read about Matteo in a travel blog that highly recommended him as a guide. When we reached out to him several months before our trip, he responded quickly and gathered information so that he could arrange a custom itinerary for us. We spent two incredible days with Matteo guiding us through the region and taking us to wonderful wineries. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and the vintners and couldn’t have been happier with the selections he made. We can’t wait to plan our next trip to the region with him.

Matteo gave us a great tour of the Langhe wine regions. We visited one small winery in Borola in the morning, had a delicious lunch in Serralunga, then visited another small winery in Barbaresco in the afternoon. In Borola, one of the owners took us to one of their vineyards where they were getting ready to start harvesting. We walked up the hillside while receiving an explanation of the difference type of grapes, why they were being grown on a particular area of the vineyard, and when they were expecting to start the harvest. Both wineries were very welcoming and took care to explain the process that they use to make their wine unique.

Although we had a bit of a delay with the trains Matteo was patient and made sure we still had arrangements to three wineries plus lunch! It was all fantastico! His knowledge is amazing and personality wonderful. A great host (despite having a three week old baby! ❤️). Highly recommend to anyone interested in piedmonts area wines - Barbaresco and barolo which are so local to this region. We sent lots to USA for enjoyment later.
Do Not Hesitate to Spend a Day with Matteo!

We had an absolutely amazing time with Matteo!!! He was born and raised in the area, but has traveled extensively and has a huge knowledge of wine and food. He genuinely loves what he does and his knowledge of wine is enormous -but, by his own admission, he loves to keep learning. We had initially requested Barbaresco, but as the Tour De France was going through, ended up in Barolo. No issue for us with that! We went to three fabulous vineyards, learned so much, drank fantastic wines, had the BEST lunch at a local restaurant in La Morra we probably would not have found ourselves and just had an overall awesome day. Highly, highly recommend Matteo. We want to go back in October for truffle season and will not hesitate to book with him again.
