Please note that a weight limit of 220lbs/99kgs/15st applies. Just for two, this is a private ride. Perfect for celebrating an anniversary or popping "the" question, or just reconnecting with each other. Experience spectacular views of the Atlantic coast on a 2 hour scenic horseback ride in St. Lucia. With views of country hillsides and happy grazing cows you may even spot a local fishermen making his daily catch. You will see views of Epouge bay and colourful camping cottages dotted along the peninsula before you ride along to Anse La Voute beach where you can swim with your horse in the refreshing Atlantic waters and experienced riders can enjoy a canter along the beach.

Sometimes seaweed and sea conditions may prevent a swim with the horses.
We do ride out rain or sun as this is an outdoor activity. If the weather is forecasted to be dangerous, we will contact you to reschedule.
Persons over the weight limit will not be allowed to participate.

Please note that a weight limit of 220lbs/99kgs/15st applies. On arrival at the stables you'll be paired up with a suitable horse. There will be a brief orientation where we explain the basics for riding and once all equipment has been checked and we know you are comfortable we'll ride out along the trail to towards the coastline and the beach. Along parts of the trails there are lots of scenic spots great for a photograph. At the beach once the sea conditions permit you may take a swim with your horse, take in the scenery, enjoy your picnic and for more experienced a gentle canter along the beach. We do ride out rain or sun as this is an outdoor activity. If the weather is forecasted to be dangerous, we will contact you to reschedule.

5.00Truly phenomenal experience. Beautiful trot on the horses and the spots they take you are breathtaking. The picnic lunch is perfect and hits the spot. The guide was very friendly and conversational and had a true passion for horses. He actually grew up around most of the horse they have there at the stable since he was 7 and mentioned how he watched most of them grow up form foals! Worth every penny for this experience

5.00We did the picnic beach ride. My husband is a non rider and we were matched perfectly with suitable horses. I’d definitely recommend Sandy Hooves Stables, it is very clear that the horses come first, they are very well looked after and are in superb condition, something really important to me. The ride was fantastic! Beautiful scenery, lovely beech ride, gorgeous picnic and then we were able to take the horses swimming in the sea 😁 Stefan, was our guide and he was fantastic! He’s very knowledgeable, certainly a horse person, really looked after us and made sure we had the best time! There aren’t enough good things to say about this ride, definitely would highly recommend!

4.00It’s different than I expected. Our guide was great but the ride to the beach and back was very slow, very uneven terrain and hard on the horses. There were so many large rocks and stones the horses had a hard time with their footing and stumbled a few times. There were several very steep hills on rutted and crumbling dirt paths. It was not private, there was another person that sat and ate lunch with us then road back with us. The ocean riding part was bareback, wasn’t expecting that and it was quite difficult to hold on plus the waves crashing I almost fell off several times so I ended early. I enjoyed the scenery though it was so primitive and peaceful. The horses were sweet and well-behaved, and we got to see the guides run them hard on the beach while we ate lunch. With the drive there and drive back it was close to 4 hours so plan for that.
Outstanding experience not to be missed.

5.00Sandy Hoofs provided an awesome horseback riding adventure. The views were awesome and the staff were all very friendly and made sure we had a great time! I would highly recommend adding the snacks and drinks to your ride, it gave a nice break and some time to hang out by the water and sip on some cold ones. All the horses were very friendly and were experts on the trails! Would highly recommend!

5.00My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on horseback! We really appreciated Stephan, who guided us on this excursion. We had an amazing authentic picnic lunch and got to ride bareback in the ocean. It's clear they care for these horses and the entire staff is joyful and fun (including the horses)! I can't recommend this enough!

5.00Great day with the team from Sandy Hoofs! The guides (Tevin, Josh, Jaylan and Alpha) were very friendly and attentive. The beach was a beautiful spot for lunch and swimming. The food was locally sourced and delicious. Highly recommend this tour! P.S. Thanks again for the guides teaching me how to open a Piton with a water bottle.
