Awesome experience. Got to enjoy scenery as well as learn about the culture and people of Fiji! Peni was an incredible excursion guide as well as so thoughtful. He shared his knowledge as well as his story with us and the day couldn't have been better. He truly cares about everyone and put together a great immersive experience! Love you and hope we meet again!

My wife and I booked a Koroyanitu National Park hike and we were lucky enough to have Peni as our guide. We were picked up from our hotel and instantly felt at ease with Peni’s warm & kind personality, instantly making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed for the hike. We decided to do the “short” hike which was from the Abaca village to the waterfall, and back again. Along the way, Peni showed his expertise and knowledge of the area, whilst being attentive to our needs, making sure we stop for enough rest breaks etc when needed. The views along the hike were beautiful and a quick dip into the waterfall was a perfect way to cool off! We finished the tour with a special lunch prepared by a local villager which we shared with Peni, this was a very unique moment and a fantastic way to end the hour. I would highly recommend booking this tour with Peni and Highlander Twinny Tours! Michael and Raquel

I had an amazing experience from pick-up to drop-off on this hike. The day included a beautiful lunch in Abaca Village where we enjoyed delicious local food, followed by a stunning trek to a waterfall. My guide Peni and his son were so welcoming and knowledgeable, sharing stories and teaching us about the land. I loved the way he spoke so warmly about his wife, which added such a personal and genuine touch. I also learned about plants used in traditional ways, like one with seeds kids once played with as marbles, “mile a minute” which is used to disinfect wounds, and even heard a barking pigeon! This is such a great way to see a more authentic, mountainous side of Fiji while supporting a small local family business. It also felt very safe and comfortable — perfect for solo female travellers. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting a genuine cultural and nature experience. Thank youuu!!

As a solo female traveller on her first trip, Peni was remarkable. The hike itself was absolutely amazing, jam-packed with beautiful sights, flora and fauna. And be sure to keep your ears open for the barking pigeon hahaha! Along the hike, Peni shared with us some knowledge about Fiji, its history and some lovely personal stories. The waterfall was just incredible, and if you're keen for a loop hike, just let Peni know. It's truly worth it! The Abaca Village was also beautiful, and the food was delicious! I'm still thinking about the roti to this day!!! Truly a highlight of the trip, thank you so much, Peni :) Seriously, if you're looking for something unique to do in Fiji, this is your sign to book this in!

Our day hiking to the waterfall in Koronityu National Park was everything we wanted it to be. About an hour and a half hiking up, then a dip in a freezing pool with water splashing down onto us, then a different hiking route back to the village. The hike was a good mix of sun and shade, and it was just the right amount of effort for us fit 60-somethings to make us feel like we had earned our lunch. Lunch was a feast of a traditional spinach dish, tapioca, curry, rice, eggs, noodles and a tuna dish in one of the village houses. Our guide Peni was kind, caring and a wonderful communicator. He told us about life in Fiji, present and past, as well as traditional stories you won't read about in a history book. This was just what we were hoping for..... a decent hike, a swim, great scenery, authentic guide, great feed, and no worries.

The tour is perfect for those who want to get away from other tourists and see a little of how especially the natives live and learn more about Fiji and its history from a tribesman. Nature is beautiful and the tour was perfect for us. Nice with local lunch in the village. Peni is an excellent and caring guide and driver.

I cannot recommend this day hike highly enough! Definitely worthwhile, and even included a crisp dip in mountain waterfall pool to reward the effort up! It was an honor to have been trekking with our guide Peni through the mountain trails of Koroyanitu and to then have experienced such an amazing time having a delicious Fijian meal at Ema’s house in Abaca village. The views of Fiji from here are indeed breathtaking! My wife couldn’t have picked a better tour to join, and we’re so happy to have met such genuine people, up in the mountain village, as well as Peni, of course! We also learned a lot of Fijian history, language and dialects and local customs from him! Vinaka vakalevu!

It was lovely hiking with a local! Benny was our guide and he is very knowledgeable about birds, plants and insects. He also took good care of us and ensured our safety. The scenery was awesome and it gave me a very different impression of what Fiji was! We also had our lunch at a local house and learnt the history of abaca village.

It can be strenuous but well worth the effort. Peni is a wonderful guide attentive to your abilities. Definitely experience the deep culture and village in the mountain. Feel this is a part of Fiji very few travelers get to experience. Put your western ways aside and develop an appreciation for a special part of the southwest pacific islands. The lunch in a local home was very special. Peni is the best!!!

This was such a cool, authentic experience. The guide was absolutely amazing, and so knowledgeable. I would encourage you to bring a change of clothes and dry shoes. It was such an authentic experience eating real Fijian food, in one of the villagers homes. We felt like a guest, not a tourist. Would definitely recommend and book again.
