Haedong Yonggungsa is a breathtaking temple located on the coast of Busan, making it one of the most unique temples in South Korea. Founded in 1376, this temple stands out from others that are typically nestled in the mountains, as it is situated right by the sea, offering a completely different atmosphere. The temple's name, which translates to "East Sea Dragon Palace Temple," is rooted in a legend that a dragon ascended from the sea to bring divine energy to the area. One of the temple's most captivating features is the harmonious blend of the temple's architecture with the stunning coastal scenery. To reach the temple, visitors must descend 108 steps, and as they do, they are greeted by a breathtaking view of the sea. Haedong Yonggungsa is especially famous as a prime spot to watch the sunrise, with many visitors arriving early in the morning to witness the spectacular scene of the sun rising over the East Sea, casting its golden light over the temple.
Haeundae Blue Line Park
You have three options in the Cheongsapo area: 1.Blueline Sky Capsule A small private capsule ride above the coastline, offering beautiful panoramic ocean views along one of Busan’s most scenic routes. 2.Blueline Beach Train A relaxed coastal train journey from Songjeong to Mipo, passing Cheongsapo with approximately 30 minutes of stunning seaside scenery. 3.Cheongsapo Daritdol Observatory A glass-floored skywalk extending over the ocean, where you can enjoy dramatic coastal views, waves beneath your feet, and one of Busan’s most photogenic seaside spots. For options 1 and 2, we can also make the reservation on your behalf, so please let us know if you would like us to arrange it. If we do not receive your request or tickets are sold out, the tour will proceed with a visit to Cheongsapo Daritdol Observatory instead.

5.00Our guide, Jason Lee, was amazing. His knowledge and love of his city helped us see and understand so much of what makes Busan great. His English is great, and his car (really a large SUV) was very comfortable. He let us customize and yet also made sure we didn’t miss things that we’d later regret if we didn’t see them. Such a great tour!

5.00Our guide, Mira, was terrific. She drove (very well). We visited the seaside Buddhist temple, which is a must see and Gamcheon cultural village, which is delightful. Mira was full of helpful info and navigated the crowds masterfully.

5.00Our trip to Busan was perfection. We traveled with my mother, a senior citizen, my husband and me, plus our three year old daughter. Our guide and driver messaged us beforehand and were waiting for us at the port. We saw everything we wanted to and more. Fiona and team were incredibly kind and patient with us and especially our daughter. I finally felt like I could relax and enjoy our vacation. I’ve taken tours on five continents and our tour in Busan was one of the best. We were sad we had to say goodbye and I would be thrilled if I had the opportunity to book a full South Korea trip with Fiona and team.

5.00Mimi our guide showed us wonderful places in Busan - a city she loves and knows well. Mimi was easy to understand and we learnt a lot about South Korea and all the places that we visited. 5.00Jenny was an amazing guide. Book the Blueline capsule very early as it was sold out when we tried to book. Yunggungsa Temple was crazy busy….maybe a pass as it is quite far from the port as well.

5.00Angela was very accommodating and spoke English well. She explained a lot to us about her culture and country. She was also particularly sensitive to my walking needs because of back issues. We went to a traditional Korean BBQ restaurant for lunch - she cooked for us and explained how to eat and enjoy. It was delicious.
