Victoria is known as the City of Gardens and on this private tour you'll discover two of the best. We'll start our day at the world-famous Butchart Gardens. As we drive along scenic country roads, learn about the fascinating history of the gardens and the unique vision of Jennie Butchart.
An early arrival at the gates means we'll miss the crowds and with 22 ha to explore, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the gardens. These stunning gardens are a National Historic Site and have something to offer in every season, from dazzling displays of spring flowers through to the magical Christmas illuminations.
A short drive through beautiful countryside brings us to our second stop: the Gardens at the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific. This "gardeners' garden" is located in a conservation park and you'll find nature trails, wetlands, and bird watching areas alongside more formal gardens, including Canada's largest Bonsai garden.

5.00Marrianne was our tour guide. She is wonderful! Very personable,knowledgeable and interesting. She has a passion for the Gardens which makes the experience so much better. I love the peacefulness of the Japanese Gardens. It was a lovely experience. Marrianne adjusted our tour a bit without reluctance. We were able to all enjoy the High Tea together.

5.00Marianne is very sweet with a wealth of knowledge about Butchart Garden it’s history and it’s fauna. Picked up at our hotel, toured the gardens, had a lovely lunch before returning us back to our hotel. Highly recommend it!

5.00By far, the BEST tour and guide of our trip! Marianne and Beyond the City Tours were amazing. Marianne was very knowledgeable about the gardens and the city. Her flexibility was very much appreciated. When one of our party wasn’t able to walk the second half of the tour, she had an alternate plan to sightsee the city. Service that is above and beyond and a great attitude that creates a one of a kind experience.

5.00Marianne was an amazing and gracious host and guide. Her personal, private tour definitely made our Victoria, cruise stop special. She was very flexible with the schedule, changing our tour to accommodate a family members physical limitations. You will be thrilled using Beyond the City Tours.

5.00The advice of an expert local biologist made this tour so much better. Early departure avoided the big crowds...comfortable, easily accessible dedicated transport...and discussion of interests and highlights before each visit, made this an excellent tour. Highly recommended.
