Acropolis
1. The Acropolis of Athens is a rocky hill 156 meters above sea level and approximately 70 meters above the level of the city of Athens. The Parthenon is a temple built in honor of the goddess Athena, patroness of the city of Athens. Τhe architects who worked were Iktinos, Kallikratis, and possibly Phidias (5th century BC). Finally, we will see the Erechtheion with the famous Karyatidis and the Propylaea.
Parthenon
The Parthenon is a temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena, whom the people of Athens considered their patron. Its construction began in 447 BC and was completed in 438 BC, although decorations of the Parthenon continued until 432 BC. It is the most important surviving building of Classical Greece, generally considered to be the culmination of the development of the Doric order. Its decorative sculptures are considered some of the high points of Greek art.

5.00This tour was amazing! I found the tour “Private City Tour of Athens” with Greece Athens Taxi from a link my local travel agent sent me. Marina from GAT reached out to me right away. She confirmed our booking and let me know the other services they offer. One was airport pickup and drop off. I immediately booked an airport pickup. Our driver was Andreas, who was also our tour guide. I booked our tour for the day after we arrived in Athens. When Andreas picked us up, he graciously took us to a local coffee shop for coffee and a quick breakfast. Andreas took us all over Athens. This is what we saw, maybe not in the correct order. The Acropolis (GAT secured our skip-the-line tickets) and Mars Hill (Andreas was very detailed about how to get to Mars Hill after we left the Acropolis). The Changing of the Guards, Olympic Stadium, a fantastic view of the city of Mount Lycabettus, and the colleges. By the time we got to the colleges, we were exhausted, so we took pictures with Plato and Aristotle on another day. The entire time, Andreas was telling us details of the different neighborhoods, museum locations, monuments, and the symbolism of the Guards' uniform. He is very knowledgeable, detailed, and answered any questions. Our tour ended with a drop off in Monastiraki for shopping. Andreas has become my go-to for airport pickups, drop offs, and tours. I highly recommend Greece Athens Taxi with Andreas.

5.00We had a fabulous experience with this company. They first did a tour for 12 of us. Our driver/ guide, Konstantinos, was wonderful. Informative. Guided us brilliantly around the city. We were always at the right place at the right time. The van was quite comfortable. Truly a memorable day. The company also provided many transfers for us. A great experience!

5.00Excellent experience from booking to communication with Operator (Marina) and then the actual tour with Spyros. The tour is set up to be tailored to whatever you want to see and though the driver is not a guide our experience with Spyros was that he was as knowledgeable as any guide and shared pertinent information regarding the sites and Athens in the general. Great experience, highly recommend.

5.00Our private driver, Spyros, was beyond excellent! He navigated and explained Athens extremely well despite the heavy rain. He even purchased new umbrellas for us to use that was a life saver while at the Acropolis. By the end of our tour, the four of us felt so comfortable with our new friend. I highly recommend this tour with Spyros!

5.00I cannot say enough about the wonderful tour we had with Konstantinos! We had a long wait after our cruise before we needed to go to the airport. I reached out last minute to see if we could book a tour to take us to the temple of poseidon and from the moment we enquired, the customer service was exceptional! We were picked up at the cruise port and Konstantinos gave us a bunch of options to spend our day. We visited Platka, the coast (which was stunning) the temple and then had a late lunch before being dropped off at the airport. Konstantinos answered questions and gave us history about the places we passed by. It was a wonderful way to finish up our trip and we didn't have to spend day waiting to catch our flight. We'll worth the money! Thank you so much for the tremendous day!
